Here's another amazing "fact check" brought to you by AP & Facebook:
CLAIM: Individuals in Washington state who refuse to cooperate with contact tracers, or those who refuse testing, will not be allowed to leave their homes for necessities.
APS ASSESSMENT: False. The Department of Health in Washington state confirmed to the AP that contact tracing participation is voluntary.

My assessment of AP's assessment:
Here is a link to an article with the news conference video: https://lynnwoodtimes.com/2020/05/12/governor-inslee-lays-out-statewide-contact-tracing-plan-for-covid-19/
In it, a reporter asks:
When it comes to contact tracing, how are you guys going to handle people or families who want to refuse to test or to self isolate? If they want to leave their home to get groceries I know youve said they cant do that; how will you make sure they dont?
The reporter asserts in the question that Gov. Inslee, "said they can't do that." Do what?
Go to 38:55 in the video to hear the exchange.
Since this conference, multiple "Fact Check" organizations (see: https://apnews.com/afs:Content:8913162176) have focused on a quote by Inslee's Communication Director, Amy Reynolds, saying that contact tracing is voluntary and that social media posts, "are not accurate summaries of contact tracing or enforcement."
Many leave out this part of her quote:
We believe most people are eager to take steps to protect their own health and that of their loved ones and communities. The authority to enforce involuntary isolation or quarantine rests with local health officers. Each local health jurisdiction in Washington has existing plans and processes should involuntary isolation or quarantine be needed.
Summary:
Gov. Inslee did not deny the claim.
His CD explained how involuntary isolation or quarantine works in the state.
“Fact check” is the new “analysis.” It’s nothing but opinion dressed up to pretend to be fact.
One of the very few good things coming out of the present farce is that opinion of both the media and of Democrats (but I repeat myself) is dropping daily. And it was already down there. Way down.
I really hate those vermin. And hope springs eternal that someday they will be the ones sheltering at homes. Homes that are known to us.
Out of control government is out of control.
Fake check. Plus he’s trying to set up his little 666 system.
it’s time for a movement called #LockdownFakeNews:
6 May: Guardian: Journalists, politicians and judges to sit on Facebook’s free speech panel
New independent board, which includes ex-Guardian editor, will rule on freedom of expression issues
by Alex Hern
Among the 20 board members who have agreed to help set policy for the social network are Helle Thorning-Schmidt, the former prime minister of Denmark; the Nobel peace laureate Tawakkol Karman; and Alan Rusbridger, the former Guardian editor-in-chief.
The first four members of the board, who all hold the title of co-chair, were selected by Facebook directly. Thorning-Schmidt is one, and is joined by two US law professors, Jamal Greene and Michael McConnell, and Catalina Botero Marino, a former special rapporteur for freedom of expression at the Organization of American States.
Those four, in combination with Facebook, selected the next 16 members and will continue to appoint board members until the board hits its full complement of 40. At that point, Facebook says it will drop out of the process, leaving the board fully in charge of its own composition.
Our roster includes three former judges, six former or current journalists, and other leaders with backgrounds from civil society, academia and public service, said Thomas Hughes, the director of the oversight board. They represent a diverse collection of backgrounds and beliefs, but all have a deep commitment to advancing human rights and freedom of expression....
Thorning-Schmidt, who served as CEO of Save the Children after leaving office and is married to the Labour MP Stephen Kinnock, said she looked forward to the challenge that the boards work would bring.
In this health crisis we are seeing that social media helps us stay connected. But theres a downside: it can spread speech that is hateful, deceitful and harmful, she said...
Rusbridger, who was editor-in-chief of the Guardian from 1995 until 2015, said. The oversight board seems to be the first imaginative and bold step by one of the biggest players to find a way of reconciling the need to start imposing some kind of judgment and standards on what is published, while still maintaining the things that are wonderful about social media, and necessary for free speech. Im impressed by the group of people that has been chosen and the processes that have been put in place.
Hughes, when asked if the independence of the board could stretch to it taking on oversight for other social networks if they requested it, confirmed that it could. But I think all the co-chairs would agree with me that in the short term there is an enormous challenge in just dealing with the requests from Facebook and Instagram alone, he said.

3 May: Guardian: This is a key moment in the public’s view of mainstream news
The pandemic has inspired some great journalism and never have we needed it more
by Alan Rusbridger
Today, we have social media and Fox News, the latter much more culpable than star-gazers since it presents itself as a reliable news channel. While the 89-year-old Rupert Murdoch reportedly cocooned himself in the safety of his eight-acre California vineyard, his Fox News toilers faithfully trumpeted the alarmingly erratic views of the man described by the writer Fintan OToole as Americas vector in chief: the president of the United States.
It was only a couple of months ago that Boris Johnsons key advisers were pushing to replace the BBC with Fox News equivalents, together with talk-radio shows and bloggers. That hasnt aged well. Most surveys of who people rely on during the current crisis show the BBC to be overwhelmingly the most trusted news organisation in the UK, with 60% thinking it has done a good job, according to a recent ***Reuters Institute of Journalism study...

I had to look twice at the headline. I thought it said A & P, and I suddenly wanted a cup of coffee. *chuckle*
Contact tracing is the gonorhea snitch program of the 60s and 70s.
Look up the names of every bureaucrat you can find, and use that.
Contract tracing is only necessary when a person has either been tested postive and/or is sick with Covid-19. He's saying that people who are sick are for the most part continuing to voluntarily self isolate and are getting outside help, and the State will provide assistance for shoppitng for food if necessary.
King Co: People with COVID-19 must isolate or face involuntary detention
It is legal under Washington State Law to involuntarily commit people sick with covid-19 during this emergency. In King County where I live, County Health Director Dr. Jeff Duchin signed a order March 28 direct people with covid-19 to self isolate, or they may be involuntarily detained (link).
So what the Govenor is talking about is trying to help people self isolating who really should not be out and about. Detaining people with covid-19 who are putting others at risk is already covered. Not that that's likely, a person sick with Covid-19 isn't going to want to go outside and hang out with people anyway.
I'm not trying to defend Govenor Inslee here. I just want to know what the full story is about before I get upset or not over it.
In the end, it’s up to the people to decide what will happen.
If they lay down, then they deserve what they get.
We should all be protesting this.
Because “it can’t happen in my town, city, state” has been said many times throughout history
only to be proven false.
This is state agents showing up at the door because you may have come in contact with the virus. You are likely asymptomatic, or not even sick.
Also, no one is asking about whether each individual’s DNA will be sequenced into a state database as a government bonus prize.
Politifact is the ONLY fact checker to have the intellectual honesty to debunk the hands up don’t shoot narrative. Amazingly they gave it their highest pants on fire rating. Otherwise, oftentimes they debunk without really debunking.
He did mention quarantining people “even before they test positive”. Based on contact tracing I imagine. (At 5:10 in your posted press conference video).
So if WA state “thinks” you may have come in contact with someone with COVID-19 they can lock you down in your home or involuntarily detain you? Should probably have a positive test before getting all tyrannical.
We expect all good Germans will voluntarily comply with our new Nuremberg Laws. For those few who chose to ignore the law we have provisions in place but we don’t think we will need to use them, after all compliance is voluntary.—Heil Hitler!
Sorry, I see what you were saying now.
Not at all.
Sorry I was snarky.
Inslee’s Nazi contact tracing order enforced at your door could cause you to be separated from your children!
