These constant 180 degree differences of opinion among doctors remind me of the editorial published a few years ago by the editor of the New England Journal of Medicine, in which he warned that 95% of all medical studies reach conclusions that are wrong. 95%!

He mentioned that the pressure to publish, combined with a perceived need to come to spectacular conclusions to chase research grants, had thoroughly corrupted the field of medical research.
