That’s a real interesting theory. I’ve read some about how it works and unlike a vaccine that is specific to a particular virus, HCQ alters the pH of the cell membrane, which makes it more difficult for the virus to enter and take over the cell to produce more virus. That’s how it spreads, and if you slow the rate at which virus is produced, you give the immune system more time to fight it, and fewer (or even no) symptoms. It also modulates the immune response which helps to avoid the cytokine storm that can lead to death.
Since the above is not specific to a particular virus, maybe it could help with many other viral diseases. Would be interesting to know, for example, how often those taking it for RA or Lupus have had the flu.
I heard that hydroxy opens pores in the infected cells, letting zinc enter (which is why zinc is part of the treatment) and the zinc interfering w RNA replication.
Doesn’t seem specific to what type of virus. Might explain why Zicam is helpful for the common cold.
