Flubros and Flubras! Day 86 (a place for Flubros and Flubras)

It’s just the flu, bro.

I had to wear a mask to church last night. So you can go to a restaurant and not wear a mask but you can’t go to a Catholic Church without a mask? Not sure if this is a requirement of the state or if it is what the Catholic Church wants to do. Any Texans (or outside of Texas) here who aren’t forced to wear a mask to church?

Hi.

We don’t have to wear masks at church, but many seasoned citizens do.

St. Pete.

63,114 American WWI troops died of the flu in theater out of only 4.7 million soldiers.

And yet, we kept on fighting.

“Most churches are unfortunately requiring masks.”

Ours doesn’t. I Haven’t heard of any in TN requiring masks — although I’m sure there are some. I notice that the very elderly wear them, but that’s about 5% of the congregation, and I don’t blame them.

Mom is 96 and she won’t wear one to church.

Masks are not required in my traditional Catholic Church (FSSP) in Phoenix, just some social distancing at the altar rail. The holy water fonts remain empty (but you are invited to bottle your own). The number of Masses on Sunday has increased by 67% (from 3 to 5) to avoid overcrowding, and most confessions are held outdoors in the courtyard.
