Ever see the same notation “By order of Health Dep’t” on the “no shirt no shoes no service” signs?
I figure masks fall into the same category and researched it a month or two ago and found that not one state actually has laws to that effect on the books. In most cases it’s entirely a policy of the shop or store, which is their right. But the point is, there’s no prior case law that forces anyone to wear anything, other than public nudity (which in most cases, is a good thing).
I suspect anyone who wanted to push it and take them to court would win in the end, but who’s willing to front the money for lawyers and lost time and to put up with the hassle just to prove a point?
Democrat governors know there’s such a thing as constitutional rights, they just choose to ignore them when it serves their purposes.
