CNN Nick Cordero, a Broadway actor who had admirers across the world rallying for his recovery, has died after a battle with COVID-19 according to his wife, Amanda Kloots.
He was 41.
"God has another angel in heaven now," Kloots posted on her official Instagram account Sunday night. "My darling husband passed away this morning. He was surrounded in love by his family, singing and praying as he gently left this earth."
Kloots has been regularly updating her social media accounts with news of her husband's ups and downs as he battled the virus and complications, including an amputated leg and potentially needing a double lung transplant. She said Cordero battled the disease for 95 days.
She shared on social media that Cordero spent some time on a ventilator, suffered multiple COVID-19 complications, including mini-strokes, blood clots, sepsis, and a tracheostomy. In April had to have his leg amputated. He had been on a ventilator and unconscious, and his lungs were so heavily damaged that a double lung transplant was being explored.

I am astounded that as a doctor working in a hospital treating COVID patients every day, you leave the hospital and go about your business - grocery shopping, etc., - without a mask. I have yet to see any doctor anywhere, not even on Fox News, suggest that we should follow your type of irresponsible behavior. Maybe youre not really a doctor but play one on Free Republic???
However, I am a follower, or believe in, the prophecies of a native American Indian called Grandfather (Check out Tom Brown Jr. of New Jersey if you are interested; I went to the first class with him).///
Crips I thought I was on the Dummies web site for minute there.
How very kind.
Probably those tik tok nurses with pouty lips, crying so hard cuz they care so much.

It’s great that there’s a whole army of folks out there harvesting food, packaging it, trucking it to stores, then others still delivering it to your home.
It’s a great country!
I pose this question: If this virus truly had a 5% mortality rate and we are suppose to everything possible to avoid it, they why if a person tests positive, do they send them home to self quarantine? To a home with children and elderly?
If this was as bad as being floated, we'd quarantine anyone affected in mass makeshift quarantine facilities such as indoor arenas.
You think it's bad now. Wait until the third wave in September. Some states will suspend in person voting. Thats the endgame here.
I’ve seen a doctor trying to make cash by seeking to use “heroic” measures to keep my dad “alive”. My wife a nurse in critical care has more than a few stories of similar and not just ventilators and not just to keep somebody alive. Procedures that served no purpose prior to death.
I know no physician who uses a mask unless forced by the business. Maybe we understand epidemiology, the effectiveness of masks, and the true risk of the disease? PS. the doctors on fox news have an agenda they are paid to promote
Mr. Cordero got care at an excellent hospital, but was hospitalized very early on in the epidemic. I suspect that has more to do with the outcome then anything else.
Prayers for the Cordero family.
I am forced to use heroic measures when pointless all the time - at the specific direction of the patient or family. I take no joy in torturing people with ventilators and procedures are the end of life but it is their choice and we honor it just as we honor the choice of those who wish to die peacefully without heroic interventions attempted
Certainly flies in the face of one item that has governors nervous. A reduction in beds as a normal way of doing business that they were all totally on board with.
I wonder if he was denied Hydroxychloroquine and the other two in treatment because Hydroxychloroquine is bad because Trump endorsed it. The liberals care more about power and money then they do about people. Maybe he was a registered Republican and like Trump and they denied him what he really needed because of that, I wouldn’t put it pass a lot of people in power to do stuff like that.
There is not going to be an effective safe vaccine anytime soon, the hype around this is to keep the frightened from totally losing their minds
“Some states will suspend in person voting. Thats the endgame here.”
Agree - the mail in vote is their massive vote fraud plan. And, if not stopped, will be the end of our Republic.
Yes, have wondered the same thing - he got sick early in this pandemic period but I believe Hydroxychloroquine had been touted by President Trump pretty early on also.
There are thousands who, if denied this treatment, are dying needlessly from COVID19.
Trump himself takes HCQ or at least was taking it by his own admission. The drug hascreen already been used for decades on Malaria and Lupus.
Or you could have something like the flu were it’s not very effective.
Thanks for taking the time to craft an eminently rational data-based post, with proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Although many of us on the Right complain about the abysmal state of American education, we don’t always lead by example.
Too many of the posts on this thread were clearly written in haste. In many cases, I have had to read a post more than once merely to get a general sense of it.
