Twitter bans thousands of QAnon accounts in crackdown
The Hill ^ | 07/21/20 08:27 PM EDT | BY CHRIS MILLS RODRIGO

Twitter has banned thousands of accounts affiliated with QAnon as part of a crackdown on the conspiracy theory, a spokesperson for the platform confirmed to The Hill on Tuesday.

Accounts and content tied to QAnon will no longer be included in email, push or follow recommendations. Twitter will also take steps to limit the spread of that content in trends and search.

Roughly 150,000 accounts worldwide will be affected by that change, according to Twitter.

More than 7,000 affiliated accounts have already been removed in recent weeks for violating the platform's rules against spam, manipulation and evading bans.

NBC News first reported the takedowns.

The crackdown on the QAnon theory – which posits that President Trump and the military are working together to expose a shadowy cabal of figures in media, entertainment and politics – comes amid problems with harassment against certain figures, according to Twitter.

Some celebrities, including Chrissy Teigen, have been targeted online by social media users recently.

The once-fringe online theory has gained mainstream recognition in recent months, with multiple Republican candidates for Congress expressing support for its tenets.

The FBI labeled the loose community a potential domestic terror threat last year.

Private compaines/entities can do/censor what ever they want (i.e. FR)...but if they censor they should lose libel, defamatory, fraudulent protections as they are acting as a “publisher” under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act...as opposed to being a “free speech platform” as they claim to be. That would be the government’s only legal angle, declare them “publishers” and open them up to publisher type lawsuits for libel, etc..

"You take yourself too seriously."

I'm guilty of that sometimes.
I'm flawed that way.

But I've served in the company of heroes, people not
afraid to tell the truth, even if their voice shakes.
Even if they get identified, canceled, their efforts
censored and deleted over and over again. #YetWePersist

I'm not ashamed to support them with the little I can
bring to the party.

So I retweet their discoveries and Meme-Unition along with
my own small contributions.

Anyone can make a difference.

Working and praying together just multiplies the impact.

We are obviously NOT aligned with those that say there's
"no 'There' there", nor are we with the "nothings happening,
no one will be punished, it's all over, the country was lost
in 'pick a year'", and who want us to stop making noise
about it, and all the other lies the EneMedia narrates,
falsely, on command, your and our world with.

Those people aim to divide us from all of you, even you HG,
and keep everyone at everyone's throats so we leave the
truly responsible to keep on about their evil business.

Q asks a lot of questions, and points a lot, and seems
to serve as back-channel communications to the people,
from seemingly Presidential sanctioned good guys,
which results in tons of research, discussion, Prayer,
and Meme-Unition. Lots and Lots of Meme-Unition,
blasting more truth than the Elite and EneMedia are OK with.

So it's not that we are aligned with Q...
We're aligned with the President. And very importantly,
we're also aligned with THIS guy, and we are NOT just
157,000 people on Twitter. Think Global. Think Legion.

Let's look back at General Michael Flynn, talking about
a Civilian Army of Digital Soldiers...
Citizen Journalists...

Yeah, the guy and his whole family just in the news for
taking the recently "Q" promoted common Government
Officer's Oath, and ending it with the saying from a
certain boat bell that "Q" has used relentlessly, which
has become THE CATCH PHRASE for the global QAnon movement.

"Where We Go One, We Go All"
Just like all the others here and around the world that
are taking that oath have been doing before General Flynn
and his Family did it with us.

Perhaps America's Intel General is clueless about QAnon, though...

Let's listen to That General Flynn, back before the Cabal came
after him to try and stop what's coming...

It seems we're enough of a pain in the a$$ about it ALL to
get quarantined, censored or shut down everywhere we
are heard. 4chan, 8chan, Reddit, now Twitter.

<Sarcasm> If only the President hadn't encouraged us by NEVER
telling Q their serving, while OK, was NOT actually at his pleasure...
as the Q Team always claimed to be, and instead retweeting all
those QAnoners tweets, and constantly timing his Presidential Tweets
with Q posts (Relevent Ones, Even!) within a few seconds behind Q.
He, Q+, Set Us Up!
</Sarcasm>

It is a good argument, but the real question is can the President do it on his own, or will legislation be required? I don’t think that the Constitution is an impediment.

*********************************************************************************************

I think that over the years a lot of legislation has taken place over the years that allows the President to do what he needs to do-especially during states of emergency. Not the first time that we have had riots and threats to domestic tranquility.

As far as the constitution, someone else had said that it was unconstitutional, so that’s why I included that in my comment.

I think it’s not only permitted by the constitution, but is a duty to protect the citizens of each state against invasion and domestic violence.

OOPs-ignore that last post was intended for another thread on violence in Seattle and Portland.

The issue about twitter may need legislation. TBD.

Q may have been a conspiracy theory years ago. But anymore it’s just a bunch of old gals sitting around chitchatting.

Which is why Twitter all but banned them. OK Karen.

Sorry, your wordy post is lost on me.
I don't believe in your hordes of Satanic pedophiles.

I consider them imaginary.

Spot on.

It takes quite a rejection of logic to think Twitter would ban “a bunch of old gals sitting around chitchatting”, but there it is.

At this point anyone who doesn’t think there is something to it are beyond hope, or on the other side. There is no third option.

“ I don’t believe in your hordes of Satanic pedophiles.

Which part do you consider “imaginary”?

You don’t think there are satanic people?
You don’t think there are pedophiles?
You don’t think satanic people can be pedophiles?

Tell us, which part is “imaginary”?
