The demonstration comes after fighting erupted July 12 in the Tavush province, along the border region of Armenia and Azerbaijan, the New York Times reported.

“[Azerbaijan] began by shelling civilian populations, targeting civilian communities at the border with heavy artillery, tanks and combat drones,” said Alex Galitsky of the Armenian National Committee of America. “They damaged a number of civilian properties, including kindergartens, and also targeted a PPE mask facility, which is incredibly egregious given the fact that Armenia has been one of the worst countries in the world hit by the COVID-19 crisis.”

Azerbaijan claims Armenia ignited the fighting. But local and national leaders have condemned the violence by Azerbaijan’s military.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti expressed his support to the Armenian community, saying “Azerbaijan must end its provocative and dangerous

God bless Armenia 🇦🇲

I mean I know some Azerbaijani people too but LA/Glendale is definitely more Armenian and Christian. And they’ve been through so much. I want their land respected.

But I don’t like how this protest gets a pass and yet Armenian churches do not?! (Opening during Covid.)

Amazing all the things that are going on in the world but do not show up in our so-called “news” media.

I don’t know the details of this specific event, but I do know, from lots of personal experience, that the Armenian people are a proud, ethical, and good people (yes, there are always outliers, but my comments are about the general characteristics of Armenians - and I stand by this). Turkey (or the Ottoman Empire at the time it happened) most certainly is guilty of genocide against the Armenian people, with estimates of at least 1.5 million Armenians killed. Unless someone can show me facts that suggest otherwise, I am with the Armenians in this conflict.

Im just shocked at all the riots going on, and some people bothered to protest about far-away deeds? Did the BLM riots interfere?

I know all about Armenia and the genocide. I'm 64 years old and fifty years ago I went to school with kids who's parent and grandparents survived it. But after all is said and done I don't give a rats hind leg for a bunch of unspellables killing off a bunch of unpronounceables.

"Apparently the ChiComs are being evicted and cleaning house before they move out."

Thanks...I checked through a few pages of postings, and didn't see it. I used to post articles many, many years ago, but stopped because the search rarely worked, and you'd find that the same article had already been posted several times.

Really??? This stuff pre-dates WW1!!

Hey! Americans of Armenian descent, you live here now, and some have at least 2 generations here. If yall think you are “still over there”, then take your butts over there and fix it !!

Do not expect American military folks to go and fight your tribal wars.
