Hmmm ... berserker. I called DH a berserker today, he can get that way when faced with certain situations. Like when he was in Chicago in the mid 80s, first time, delivering some stuff for a friend, and he ran into a few blocks full of blacks rioting. They started banging on his tiny little car and so he instantly started just driving through them like no tomorrow with his face in battle mode and they started scattering. Only later at his destination did he start shaking... there were also gunshots and a few killed right around that time in that area. From Europe, he knew nothing about Chicago or riots or anything.
Awesome. Every time I see one of those videos of the mob pounding on a car full of Americans, and pulling them out to beat that anoose, I have fantasies about mashing the gas pedal and flattening a couple of them as I laugh like a maniac and burn rubber.
I even cuss at the victims, screaming at them what they should do (in my head).
The trick is to run over scenarios before hand, and when the time comes, instinct takes over. No time for panic or freezing up. Mental training.
Calm, cool, and collected. Like a machine.
Tell your DH I like the cut of his gib.
I know someone who was in Chicago during that time frame as well! He had the back of his car picked up by two burly guys who figured they'd give him a hard time. He calmly put his car in reverse and gunned the engine. He said his car got heavier and heavier and they were sweating bullets by the time he let them go.
