U.S. House votes to block Postal reforms seen as threat to mail-in ballots (not really)

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Democratic-led U.S. House of Representatives voted on Saturday to provide the cash-strapped Postal Service with $25 billion and block policy changes that have stirred concerns about mail-in balloting ahead of the Nov. 3 election.

**SNIP**

As lawmakers prepared to vote, Trump took to Twitter to accuse Pelosi and Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer of seeking unnecessary funding for the Postal Service and trying to pull off a “Universal Mail-In Ballot Scam.”

“Vote NO to the Pelosi/Schumer money wasting HOAX which is taking place now,” the president wrote.

DeJoy told a Senate committee on Friday that the Postal Service would deliver ballots “securely and on time” in the November election but said bigger changes could come after that.

In fact, the House bill would prevent DeJoy from taking any action that would impede service until after next January or the end of the coronavirus health emergency, whichever comes later.

“Our legislation is not just about the election. It’s about - surprise, surprise, Mr. Postmaster General - the coronavirus!” Pelosi told a news conference.

It’s DOA, Trump already said he would veto it and it didn’t come anywhere close to the 2/3rd needed to overturn a veto even in the hous.

I keep seeing the media report (as was in the DNC press e-mail) that the House passed 25bn for the postal service, and I keep trying to find this mysterious money bomb.. Anyone happen to have the House bill that contains this money so I can finally see what strings are attached?

All I can find is the bill they passed which basically dictates a bunch of rules to the postal service which are based on false media reports.

The policy was established years ago to bring expenses in line with revenues.

“DeJoy told a Senate committee on Friday that the Postal Service would deliver ballots securely and on time”

Why not say the opposite?

He could have killed mail in voting this week

Democratic California Sen. Kamala Harris sponsored a Senate bill that would force public schools to allow biologically male athletes who identify as transgender on girls’ sports teams. . In March 2019, Harris cosponsored the Equality Act, which would amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 . Among other things, the bill would force public schools to expand female athletic teams to include biological males who identify as transgender girls,..

HERE’S HOW THEY TREAT CONSERVATIVE Congressional DEMOCRATS WHO DONT SUPPORT STUFF LIKE THIS and why there is no such thing as a Conservative Dem in Congress
Democrats weren’t happy with his votes against abortion and on being the only democrat to vote NO on allowing men to to call themselves a women and compete with women in college sports.
Those who live in Chicago already voted at their local public library. But in the reshaped 3rd Congressional district Daniel Lipinski lost because of redistricting. Which had previously included adjacent Chicago city wards to his 23rd in a district that dealt exclusively with city issues such as a subway L service and the Stevenson Expressway Wards which were reliable Dan’s father William O Lipinski supporters. But since most had areas with hispanic last names those areas were redistricted and assigned to Gutieriez’s district. Those results are posted below which actually tear up the concept of a neighborhood and pit people against each other by using division.
