You can see from Worldometer stats that the daily new cases have been dropping for weeks. The deaths new deaths have been dropping at a much slower rate. Cases is the a leading indicator for deaths - it drops first. Deaths are about to plummet.

We are about to see an abnormally large drop in reported CV cases starting this week or next, in my opinion. This is a big change as before they wanted all exposed people to get tested. As word gets out fewer asymptomatic cases will be in the statistics. Fewer reported cases means less hysteria and less time wasted getting tested.

A scientist advising the government on infectious diseases has said the lockdown was a ‘monumental mistake on a global scale’, in an explosive interview (LINK) with the Daily Express.
According to Professor Mark Woolhouse, who sits on the Scientific Pandemic Influenza Group on Behaviours, lockdown was a ‘panic measure’ and he ‘never want[s] to see national lockdown again’...
Woolhouse originally supported lockdown as a temporary measure, intended to buy time for scientists to come up with new methods for fighting Covid-19. However, he admitted it was done because ‘we couldn’t think of anything better to do’.
Woolhouse believes ‘the harm lockdown is doing… will turn out to be at least as great as the harm done by Covid-19’, if not greater. ‘The cure was worse than the disease’, he added.
He also took aim at the government’s policy of closing schools, saying this was ‘not an epidemiologically sensible thing to do’, and that we should have focused on care homes and not kids.
Woolhouse’s words make a mockery of the government’s claims to be following ‘The Science’ when shutting down society...
Rather than flail around in search of ideas, the government should end the lockdown for good and allow us to get on with our lives.

Professor Gupta has argued the state’s predicament is proof that lockdown measures are ineffective in the longterm.
‘There is no way lockdown can eliminate the virus … and so it’s not at all surprising once you lift lockdown in areas it will flare up again,’ she told The Australian.
‘That is what we are seeing in the southern United States, and in Australia.’...
According to scientific research, between 30 and 81 per cent of the global population have T-cells from previous colds and flus that could automatically recognise the threat of the coronavirus, making them immune.
A large number of Australians will also be asymptomatic if they came down with the virus.
Professor Gupta argued it would be better to let COVID-19 spread in the community and have stronger measures to protect the vulnerable - such as the elderly or sick.
‘You can only lock down for so long unless you choose to be in isolation for eternity so that’s not a good solution,’ she was quoted saying.

The protesters say they are exercising their “right to freedom” and many have told 7NEWS they “don’t believe COVID-19 is real”.

The Public Order Response Team was also called to suburban streets on Monday.
A 48-year-old man believed to be the protests’ organiser was charged with incitement while another 11 people were slapped with $1,652 fines.
Under Stage 4 restrictions, Melburnians cannot travel more than 5km from their home and may only leave for four essential reasons: caregiving, shopping, exercise and essential work.
They also must be at home between the hours of 8pm and 5am.
Victoria recorded 149 new infections on Wednesday, the state’s third consecutive day with fewer than 150 cases.
Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton said the numbers were being “a bit stubborn” but three days below 150 was “not bad”...
Despite the steadying cases, a further 24 deaths were recorded overnight - the state’s second-deadliest day since the pandemic began.

According to Chinese project contractor BGI Group, it will raise the Canadian facility’s daily testing throughput to 2,000 samples and support the urgent need for additional testing capacity in Ontario.
The southern Chinese city’s donation to Canada is being made via the Shenzhen-based Mammoth Foundation, and as a founding member of the foundation, the Chinese genomics BGI Group will be in charge of installation, training and logistics support, BGI told the Global Times on Thursday...
BGI also provides an emergency COVID-19 detection lab called Huo-Yan Laboratory, with P2 level biosafety protection and robots that can be quickly deployed around the world.
The first Huo-Yan lab was built in Wuhan in February in one week, providing testing capability of up to 20,000 samples per day. Such labs have since been built in the United Arab Emirates, Brunei, Serbia and Australia.

TYLER — Another round of mass testing was conducted at both jails due to a recent surge of positive inmates at the Smith County Jail. The entire population of 408 inmates was tested at the North Jail Facility on Monday. The Department announced 125 came back positive for Covid-19. Each of these inmates are currently asymptomatic and would not have been detected if not for precautionary testing. More test results are pending for 86 inmates housed in the Towers section of the Central Jail Facility. In total, 137 inmates have recently tested positive for Covid-19 at the North Jail Facility and 12 inmates have tested positive at the Central Jail Facility. Precautionary measures have been set in place to try and minimize the impact of Covid-19 to the rest of the jail population and detention staff.
