Your comment hits real close to home. Some years ago, I was backpacking with some friends. The valve on my liquid fuel camp broke while I was adjusting it and spewed fuel onto me. I thought I was OK but then WHOOSH. Suddenly my hand was on fire.
“Stop drop and roll” yelled one of my friends.
“It’s gravel” I replied
Then I went to pat my still flaming hand into my shirt.
“Synthetic” I yelled. My performance fabric shirt would instantly melt into the skin on my chest.
We finally got the fire out and I was cooling my now second degree burns with water when one of my buddies said “Wow, that happened so fast I didn’t get a chance to take a picture. Can we do it again?”
