To be fair, KY was one of the first states to go for Trump in 2016. Our two biggest cities, Louisville and Lexington, are liberal strongholds. Rest of the state has SOME sense :)

I'll bet that Democrats want riots in Kentucky because it's McConnell's home state.
They will use this to bash McConnell as he's focusing on filling the vacancy on the Supreme Court.
They will shamelessly ask how McConnell can so heartlessly move on filling the vacancy while his own state is burning and demand that he "take care of things at home" before trying to rush a nominee onto the court.
