Traced to 600 BC the Podengo has been kept wild and pure by the Portugese for the last 1500 years.
We call Murph the “cave dog” for his savage hunting skills, unbelievable hardiness, gnarly fur, curved teeth and at first his lack of wanting to be civilized.
Never seen anything kill rabbits so effectively. They don’t get away. He grabs them by the back, snaps their back then immediately swallows them hole, head first, legs down.
He now knows how to pretend at manners thanks to 7 years with his adopted Boston Terrier brother.
Wish he hadn’t been spayed ... a rescue runaway.

It will have the ability to produce and make more......Dogs; then selectively breed for traits and you’ll get big dogs, little dogs, shorthairs, long hairs, droopy ears, tall ears.....all with long tails....But that ain’t evolution.

There were 26 spiecies of gulls before the Ice Age. They were labeled by letter - A gull, B gull, C gull, etc.
Only three survived: the C gull, the E gull, and one that evolved into a land animal, the B gull.
