Right now on the Degen, that’s the strongest overseas commercial shortwave signal I’ve EVER received (in last ten years).

Can ever hear it slightly with the active loop turned off and the 1 meter unshielded antenna cable serving as the antenna!

This is interesting.

When my new 160mtr full size inverted vee is installed
on the hill next to my house I will be ready to join in.

Going to feed it using 450ohm parallel line so it will be good 160-10...it is about 500ft to the spot where the vee will go....thus the need for the extremely low-loss 450ohm line instead of coax.

Right now I’m here in a valley (an rf hole in the ground) in the middle of nowhere.

Have two new Icoms still in the boxes, an IC7300, for the shack, and a IC718 for the mobile.

Please keep me informed of when this Liberty Net is active.

Sounds like an end-fed halfwave would be a good antenna choice for you.

Running power you will need to use 3 cores, maybe 4.
I use FT240-43 Ferrite cores.

See the “Real End Fed Half Wave Antennas” group.

Would be quite funny if someone put out an ssb signal at just the right offset to use their AM signal as a BFO, you would become a tinny little voice everyone could hear on their AM shortwave radio...inject comments into pauses, I can think of plenty of quips to inject :-)

I can listen in, but don’t know if I can check into the net. My 75 meter antenna is a dipole with loading coils and close to the ground. I’ll sure try though.

It’s nice to know that there’s a lot of Freeper Hams out there. 73
