"Roundabout" is a song by the English progressive rock band Yes from their fourth studio album Fragile, released in November 1971. It was written by singer Jon Anderson and guitarist Steve Howe and produced by the band and Eddy Offord. The song originated when the band were on tour and travelled from Aberdeen to Glasgow, and went through many roundabouts on the way.

If you’re new to the band, Fragile is a good starting point for classic-era Yes. Or 90125 if you want selling-a-bunch-of-records-era Yes. :)

But more often than not, if I’m in the mood for some Yes I cue up Close To The Edge.

I think I’ve seen Yes (in its many incarnations) more times than I’ve seen any other band.

She chose to play the Yes song “Clap”. She passed.

Yep, that's pretty much as good as it gets.

Interesting.

I also didnt realize she had to audition. I thought they were more or less built around the sisters.

1973 I didn’t know the band Yes. I’d hear a commercial on the radio advertising their coming concert.

“You’ve heard their hit song, their intricate rock precision and they are coming to the sportatorium this Friday night and we can’t wait, yes. get your tickets... “

What? Who the heck is playing?

I’d start with “The Yes Album.”

Yes is one of my three favorite bands of all time: Yes, Beatles and Credence Clearwater Revival.

Drama is easily Yes’ most underated album. Tempus Fugit is a favorite. Could It Really Happen? are Into the Lens are also big favorites of mine.

Blew away Tormato, that’s for sure, they were getting tired by then.

Did they rip off ELP’s intro to “From the Beginning,” or was it the other way around?

Arriving UFO and Circus of Heaven. Grrr...

Then the band went on to prove they didn’t need Anderson. :-)

...But I guess they needed Anderson’s fans! :-(

Yes was the first rock concert I ever attended. Saw them at the old Tampa Stadium in January ‘74. Turned out to be the coldest night of the year with temperatures in the 30s and a steady breeze blowing. I arrived very early, took a seat high in the stands and didn’t move for over 5 hours. When I did get up to leave I realized that hypothermia was setting in and I hardly had any control of my limbs. Anyone who saw me stumbling down the steps must have thought I was drunk or stoned.

I just have to jump in here and put in mega-kudos to Tales From Topagraphic Oceans.

If you’ve listened to four songs in the last 90 minutes you must be into ProgRock !

Saw them in Wichita Kansas in 73.
Roundabout, Starship Trooper, but the stand out is You and I.

Late 60’s, early 70’s.

Great time to hear alternative music.
Everyone was in on it.

Even Elton.

Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding is one of the ten greatest rock songs of all time.

Elton had the best band in the world backing him at the time.
