A Michigan man is accused of placing pipe bombs outside cellphone stores as part of a crusade to halt telecommunications “containing immoral content,” like porn and cursing, court documents show.

The alleged would-be vigilante then left threatening letters, placed inside polka dot envelopes, at cell towers in the state’s Upper Peninsula, prosecutors said.

The suspect was identified as John Douglas Allen. The suspect was identified as John Douglas Allen. United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan The letters, which had a return address of “Coalition for Moral Telecommunication (CMT),” demanded that software be updated to stop the spread of porn and vulgarity, according to an affidavit.

The non-virtuous villain threatened to travel across the country destroying cellphone towers, but he also had his price, according to the allegation.

John Douglas Allen, 75, also objected to “cursing” and “all manner of indecent communication,” according to the feds.

Another demand was payment of $5 million, which had a time requirement ‘within 180 days.’ The letters also noted that if one of its members were arrested, then ‘your problems will begin’ and the ‘price will go up one hundred times.’ The group claimed in the letter that its ‘reach’ was in 27 states.

You can be out in the middle of the deep woods, and not know whether you’re being photographed by a game camera...

I'll just point out that our "government" left 85 billion dollars worth of weapons for a terrorist government.

Maybe the Revolution needed some walking-around money.

California authorities couldn’t find the plate in their motor vehicles database because it was too old. That’s when investigators noticed the dealership badge on the rear of the car: Richardson Chevrolet Buick in Standish, Michigan. FBI agents showed up at the dealership, where an employee “provided information...

Always remove the dealer decals from your cars, folks. Not for nefarious purposes. But it’s your car and they aren’t paying you to advertise!

Typo in item #1....”As software must ME developed...”

His status as part of a big organization in 27 cities was suspect by his $5 Million Dollar demand.
For the things he was demanding from these billion dollar organizations, all in a rather brief period,
Five Million Dollars is, to quote Nancy Pelosi; “Crumbs”.
I would have expected the collective demand to be something as outrageous as the demand, something over Half a Billion Dollars.

Was that created with a typewriter? Boy that’s old school. Ask the current generation what a typewriter is.

In high school in the 70's I took 2 years of typing. I was one of the few boys that did. I signed up because the teacher was hot. Plus it was a classroom full of girls.

Managers are experts at concealing their cluelessness.

Hence, knowing we can actually develop this in three months, we’ll bid it at twelve, bring it in at six and buy new gaming rigs with the bonus. Easy peasy.

He also managed to misspell “destroying” in the first paragraph.
