A Mississippi man kidnapped a Lyft driver on Tuesday afternoon and made her crawl through a wooded area before shooting her multiple times, authorities said.
Dontarius McGee was identified as the suspect and arrested in Jackson after the incident, local news outlets reported, citing Jackson Deputy Chief of Police Deric Hearn.
Hearn said that Brandy Littrell, 36, picked up the man at Spring Lake Apartments in Byram and drove him to another apartment complex in Jackson, according to WJTV. McGee pulled a gun on Littrell and forced her into the backseat of a black Dodge Journey before driving her to a wooded area.
McGee forced Littrell to crawl through the woods before shooting her multiple times, according to Hearn.
“He said, ‘Get on your knees,'” Littrell told WAPT-TV. “So, I got on my knees, and then I heard the first shot,” Littrell told WAPT-TV.
Littrell told that station that she covered her blood-drenched face and waited a few minutes for her attacker to leave before running to a nearby apartment complex to find help.
Police said Littrell was rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Littrell told the station Wednesday that she is recovering and is alive “by the grace of God.”

Dontarius is a funny name for a chubby white girl, but people are zany these days.

When law enforcement eventually breaks down completely, there will be roving death-squads hunting down the all Dontarius’s.
And he culturally appropriated the name.
As an ex- people driver for uber and Lyft, I can tell you it’s a very dangerous job.
I deliver food now. I have yet to pull a gun on a sandwich but I have been lured into dark places with fishy people.
Uber and Lyft both immediately dismiss drivers accused of having a gun. It’s against their policy for “passengers or drivers” to carry a gun while together.
Instead both platforms encourage you to call 911 or call their “incident response team”. Of you call either you will be removed from the platform pending investigation.
In the year that I drove passengers I cleared leather 3 times. In my entire life I had to pull my gun on one person and 2 dogs. In uber I did it 3 times in a single year. I work in a low crime area.
I encourage all drivers to arm themselves and I do free training in my area for drivers that teach both legality and tactics for getting out of these situations. To date 2 of my people have had to draw their firearm and more than 10 have deployed pepper sprays.
I’ve recommended stun guns on all occasions. Using a firearm in your car it’s not only difficult tactics, but also a legal nightmare. Sprays affect you in your car at a time when you need your vision. Stun guns and prods work very well both tactically and legally. It is effective at getting people out of your cart and incapacitated while you execute your next move.

I believe the correct plural form is, "Dontarii."
Ms. Littrell is very fortunate that Dontarius McGee is a lousy shot.
I usually refer to guys of that ilk as the “Davontes of the world”, but I guess there’s room for some Dontarii as well. Dontarii sounds pretty cool, like a barbarian tribe the Romans might have fought (and the modern Dontarii are pretty barbaric)..
