Washington concluded, “In heaven, there are going to be two lines, the long line and the short line, and I’m interested in being in the short line.”

Film ping list.
As always, I look for good news from the world of film when I can find it.
The best 2021 films I’ve seen this year (all in theaters): Old Henry; The Most Reluctant Convert; Montana Story. I’m enthusiastic on all three.
The best older films I discovered this year: Downfall; Conspiracy.
I’ve not yet seen Belfast or C’mon, C’mon. Both have been very well reviewed. Both seem to be thoughtful, culturally and morally conservative films. I’ve not yet been excited enough to get to a theater to watch them, but since I think we need to vote with our dollars, I will probably trek out one of these evenings.
The film I’m most looking forward to: After Yang, which premiered to good reviews in Cannes but then went back into lockdown. It will be showing at Sundance, which is going hybrid this year; I’ll probably see if I can sign up for an online showing.
Then there’s the “stairway to heaven” and the “highway to hell”.——I suppose speed is a factor in the pass-thru?
I think Downfall is the most meme’d movie clip of all time.

I didn’t know you like to get wet.
I recently watched a beautifully-done family-friendly movie, free on Tubi, called Run The Wild Fields:

You are probably right. Some of the parodies are great. I have known about the film for many years due to the parodies, but I never bothered to watch it. It is well worth watching.
I saw the new film of Macbeth that he is in. Well worth seeing.
I plan to watch that as well. My problem is that I’ve seen enough MacBeth adaptations to last three lifetimes. One more won’t hurt and the leads are both terrific actors, but at this point, it feels a bit like a chore to sit through “out, out, damned spot” yet another time.
He is one of my favorites!
Bless him
I’m looking forward to that.
He was great in Glory!
ill, buck-naked
He is one of few actors who will draw me into a movie theater.
He was good to a college friend—giving him some bit parts in his movies.
He is good at his craft. He appears to be a good person. Good for him.
Downfall is one of my favorites.
Denzel is an excellent actor. But I look forward to meeting him someday in the clouds because he is a believer and God is going to snatch believers outta here soon.
Feature length anime isn't for everyone, but this guy is the Japanese early Walt Disney sans the anti-semitism. Just an incredible artist.
Highly recommend "Sprited Away" as a primer to his work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRVpWwMXrl8
I’ll give a dollar to the first one that finds any interview with Denzel Washington claiming he’s a Christian where he actually mentions the word Christ.
However I do know Denzel and his wife donated the max to pro abortion, pro LGBT, anti family, anti Christian, pro BLM Stacy Abrams in Georgia. Like so many other frauds, I’m guessing his god Is right in the mirror. No Denzel, I’m thinking you will be in the long line.
When I first heard they were making “The Equalizer” with Denzel I was skeptical. He’s not an old white guy with a British accent.
Boy was I wrong. 2nd movie was so so. TV series SUCKS.
That’s awesome! I haven’t seen The Wind Rises yet, I figured there wouldn’t be any more so I was saving it. Besides his movies, Miyazaki also made one of the absolute best graphic novels of all time in Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind.
