The 14-year-old son of a pizza shop employee shot one of three would-be robbers in the face after he started choking his mom in Philadelphia, police said
Police arrived at the shop in the Spring Garden neighborhood shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday and noticed a trail of blood that began inside the restaurant and went on for three blocks into the subway station at Broad and Spring Garden streets.
The employee told police three men had entered and demanded money from the cash register, which she told them she couldn’t open because she needed a code.
Other employees said one of the men tried to reach over the counter and then began choking the woman, prompting her son to pull out a handgun from underneath the counter and shoot the alleged attacker once in the face, according to police.
All three men then ran off.
Responding officers followed the blood trail to the subway station, where they found the suspect bleeding heavily. Police also found a large amount of cash inside the suspect’s pocket, though they did not find a gun. Investigators are unsure if the suspect was armed during the robbery or if he pretended to have a weapon.
The suspect was taken to Jefferson Hospital, where he is currently in critical condition.
Police said the same suspect was likely involved in another robbery that took place about five minutes prior at a nearby pharmacy on the 400 block of North Broad Street, about two blocks away from the pizza shop. During that incident, three men entered the store and robbed the pharmacy.

An individual got on an elevator that I was riding in and I noticed that he had been shot right in his forehead. I was at a loss for words, but since I worked at the hospital, I told him he really should see a Doctor in the ER about that. Apparently he had been shot in an armed robbery (he was the robber), and his brother had been transported to the hospital. He was looking for him, I guess to let him know that he was “OK”. The brother died without ever regaining consciousness, and I don’t know if he ever made it or not. Headshots are a strange thing and are not always instantly fatal.
It would have been hard for him to get The Hat Trick, but somewhere, Kyle Rittenhouse is smiling in approval.
Best place to shoot a robber. In the face.
Aiming for the face is good in certain other situations too, but I didn’t say that.
I cited my reasoning, much of which happened in the last month alone !
Has to be able to hit a brain in there.
Marvin?
Why do you have a grudge against Rittenhouse Square?

The collapse of social order is the intended goal among the city officials. Chaos and mayhem serves them when the great reset button is pushed. Blow up and destroy what you haven't been able to change and shape to your goals thru normal political processes. Then build back better.
Here's to you kid! In the pie hole next time.
I dunno, we could have asked Joe Rosenbaum if he were still with us.
Good news on the school board majority!
pizza to die for... but Rudy Chinchilla? WTH
What does the lack or apparent lack of a firearm or other weapon on the perp have to do with the situation? Strong arm robbery is a lethal force situation requiring a countervailing force response. What was the kid or anyone else to do? strangle the perp back?
Pretty sure robbery is assumed to be a lethal force act in most if not all jurisdictions. Unless the perp (s) ask politely and say “please” for your money?
Oh no, Liberals are upset a 14 year old boy, shot a thug. The DA will charge him as a racist and a White Supremacist... 🤓
Well, with proper training next time the young man will go for center-mass. That way there won’t be a trail to follow, hopefully the perp will be found right there.
What’s the US crime rate of you take out blacks and Hispanics (who are counted as whites when committing crimes)?
