Jim Lamon Mocks Outrage Over Super Bowl Ad Where He Shoots at Joe Biden [AZ Senate candidate]
MSN ^ | February 11, 2022 | Jack Dutton

Jim Lamon, a Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate in Arizona, is standing by his decision to run a political ad in which he shoots at President Joe Biden and other Democrats—and has mocked those who expressed outrage at the commercial.

In the ad, released on Thursday ahead of the Super Bowl this weekend, Lamon is dressed as a Western sheriff, facing down actors in cowboy costumes who are meant to be Biden, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Arizona Senator Mark Kelly.

"The good people of Arizona have had enough of you. It's time for a showdown," Lamon says in the ad.

When the three Democratic "cowboys" approach a ranch with guns, Lamon shoots at them, knocking their weapons out of their hands and forcing them to run away.

The ad sparked a backlash, especially because Kelly's wife, former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, was shot in an assassination attempt in January 2011. The attack left Giffords with a brain injury and led her to becoming a vocal gun control advocate.

In a tweet on Thursday, Lamon appeared to stand by his commercial. "Left wing snowflakes can't stand the fact that, for once, AZ will have a Senator who will shoot straight with them & stop cowering to Biden," he wrote.

Why didn’t he hold a model of his bloody severed head up in front of the camera? The elites thought that was a real laff riot.

If you’re running for the Senate, making a campaign ad as divisive as that is not smart. Self inflicted damage. Not all controversy is beneficial.

Go ahead and offend liberals.

They love offending us without repercussion.

So... he didn’t shoot AT Biden, he shot Biden’s gun away from him. Yeah, sure, that’s the same thing. (Still, stupid ad to use against Mark Kelly.)

MSN fails to mention that Kelly's wife, former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, was shot in an assassination attempt in January 2011 by a leftist kook.

Kelly thinks it entitles him to warm a U.S. Senate seat for as long as he want.

He shoots the guns out of their hands. Real 1950s cowboy stuff.

Life is starting to feel like a season from the series 24. Every hour gets more desperate and hokey until fifteen episodes into the interminably long season, you get the feeling: Hey! We’ve been played. They’ve created an alternate reality, plugged everyone into it through their mobile screens, to keep us entertained while we slave away for nothing.

The man may be a patriot, but he is a political fool.

Depends on the voters in his area. Being divisive is risky, but sometimes risk is necessary to win.

That being said, you may be right.

Agreed. Such an ad would lose you more votes than you would gain.

I’ve not seen any superbowl commercials yet. Did they already have the superbowl and I just missed it?

Yeah. Not the smartest thing pointing guns at the opposition even in a commercial. Look at Palin when she used a transit bullseye and the left thought it was a rifle scope.

Problem is he is also offending some of those in the middle. Here in AZ, he will need their votes to win.
