Supreme Court ruled that corporations have free speech; therefore these corporations should sue blackrock for violating their free speech rights
And then they will have to reckon with Xi's ambition to be the top dog. And a-hole Pooty Poot's desire to keep his nuclear weapon-rich country out from under the control of any of these other a-holes.
Since the country is 50/50, let a few companies in an industry fight over who can be the Wokest. That leaves one non Woke company to gain the 50% of the market! Winner!
I can tell you from good personal experience that the CEOs are not the bad guys here .. it's the rules coming down from the investment banks.
In general, the CEO's would be perfectly happy to focus on doing business and making profits.
At the end of the day, the CEO is just the working stiff at the top of the corporate pile.
Pretty much the case. When Rand Paul was BANNED from Facebook (or Twitter), Rand’s reaction was something like:
“While I’m disappointed (at being banned), it’s fine, since they are a private company”.
He’s apparently UNABLE to see what’s going on. Remember it wasn’t the NAZI Party or SS who made the Zyklon gas to kill 6 million Jews, it was Bayer, same company that now makes aspirin.
So, with friends like Rand Paul, who needs enemies.
Blackrock doesn’t, their investors do, and their investors are literally anyone. They’re a mutual fund company.
Why should any of us care what the irrelevant black racist John Blake who is being pimped out by CNN thinks?
Rogan reaches more people in an hour than CNN does in a week and John Blake does in his career.
lol. Whoops. Wrong thread!
“Blackrock doesn’t, their investors do, and their investors are literally anyone. They’re a mutual fund company.”
Wrong... The “controlling” investors do, and they are not just “anyone”. Vanguard is the controlling interest in Blackrock and there for make the decisions. And the most powerful elite families in the world own Vanguard so in turn Blackrock.
Chase the ladder rungs. It is all controlled by these few families. The whole world, every country, and every government is controlled by these few families through debt, extortion, or family ties.
And Vanguard/Blackrock are the vehicles which give them the power to do this.
Oh, plenty of these public company CEOs love this stuff. The entire Harvard mentality has oozed everywhere the last 4 years. My current (new firm, industry) and last one (left in October) does in fact. Given my role (head of IR), I interact with C-suite just about every day and frequently our Board of Directors. Out of my last 7 CEOs, only one I know (cuban guy) hated that stuff.
Why are you singling out Rand Paul? 95% of the FR community here support “unfettered Private Company rights”. Is this selective criticism depending on who does it then? Would this not be hypocritical?
Because Rand Paul needs to be ON OUR SIDE in dealing with the tech monopolies. 95% of the people here, me included, are literally POWERLESS to stop them. Rand is not, but instead he’s literally BLINDED by his idealism to the point that he’s enabling Democrats, and it pisses me off.
“he’s literally BLINDED by his idealism to the point that he’s enabling Democrats, and it pisses me off.”
He is just one of the many... Look at how many here on our side supported the elimination of Net Neutrality in the spirit of “private business rights”, and pure hate for everything Obama did without any critical thought. Well this was a huge mistake that handed the leftist tech companies the almost unchecked power to do what they are doing right now. So it was our own selves long before it was Rand Paul.
We grossly supported the wrong decision in the first place that created the whole situation. Now we blame others for not being able to fix what WE allowed to happen? It is OUR fault, no one would heed the writing on the wall when we should have. A few did, the others refused to listen and understand the true cause and effect. When in reality it was one of the few things Obama actually got right even if it was by accident.
Larry Fink’s strong support for the Chinese Communist Party—again, using investors’ money.
Front man Larry Fink gets wink form Hunter.
It is important, is it not, to distinguish between China and Communist China. Do these large business entities make such a distinction?
We’re pretty much on the same page. Back then, we were weren’t being censored, but I do remember people here (maybe you included) saying “Watch out, when you give the Left that much power, they will use it”, but no, we just trotted along, oblivious to what could (and ultimately did) happen to us.
Rand upsets me because he actually is a conservative and with us on most things (although he was wacky again last week by actually believing the State Department description of President Al Sisi of Egypt as some kind of tyrant), but in general he’s far better than the RINOs.
But Rand really needs to understand that this is a DEATH STRUGGLE we’re now in. The time to implement libertarian ideals is not now, not until the Left is defeated, and unlike RINOs, he’s smart enough to know that...but doesn’t act that way when we need him to.
I understand and agree, we are down to the wire and something needs to be done. But consider this, Rand is only echoing what most conservative capitalists spout. He would get just as much or more criticism if he did not support “business rights” in all forms.
Much of this comes from the ignorance of the conservative base it’s self. “Corporatism” is nowhere near the same concept as the free market Capitalism we strongly support. But in this time honored fight for Capitalism we are indirectly supporting and helping fight for Corporatism.
The two concepts need to be recognized and treated as two totally different things. Corporatism is about as anti-free market Capitalism as it can get. It is the opposite. It is territorial and locks out the free market concept.
