Every now and then Leslie Neilsen showed up as the heavy or bad guy in a few 70s shows.

He did that well in addition to comedy.

Exactly. Enrico Pallazzo! He gave us so much beloved comedy, that in his ‘serious’ roles, it’s like he is only delaying something really funny.

I know what you mean. Leslie Nielsen plays informer to Patrick McGoohan in “Columbo: Identity Crisis”, and as soon as I see him lying down with his shirt buttoned down, I just laughed out loud. Link below (6+ minutes).
