I get that but I don’t see the LGBTQ community voicing this and helping to tame things down. I see them wearing the rainbow hats and clothing and even rainbow scarves at their graduations like “look at me, I’m gay!” An awful lot of gays have to let you know they are gay and “proud” of it. To me they just seem to be looking for some sort of validation that it’s ok to be gay or bi or queer, whatever. In other words they need the attention.

Plenty of gay people do not support this stuff, but they are not gonna be the ones to shout it down. Especially since it was so easy for the activists to convince them that they were so oppressed in the past.

So they will still say that the gay rights movement was a good thing, even if they object to all the excesses.

Just like black people are not gonna be the ones to shout down BLM or Black Panthers or Nation of Islam, because they experienced some racism in their lives. So they will tip toe around any criticism of these groups.

It’s like a variant of Stockholm Syndrome. Only instead of sympathizing with their captors and tormentors, they are reluctant to criticize demagogues who feign sympathy for their particular victim group, even though they can see what scammers they are.
