The NFL suspended Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson for six games on Monday for violating the league’s personal conduct policy.

As part of the decision, Watson must now receive all his massages from Browns team therapists, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Robinson's ruling said that while Watson's “pattern of behavior was egregious,” it was “nonviolent sexual conduct,” per Pelissero.

I am sure you are better informed about his salary than I.

I remember a college classmate made a pro team on year. I learned he was clearing about $20k a week. During the season. I thought it was crazy in 1982. I thinks it’s crazy now.

I’ve served on a grand jury. All the panel knows is what evidence investigators and the district attorney choose to present. If they don’t want a conviction, they simply withhold evidence or testimony.

Wilt the Stilt claimed he did about 10,000 women.

I think that wilt claimed 20,000 women.

But if he was wilt, how did he do that?

Splints for the stilt?

Could be he was mis-named, he should have been called the subway footlong.

Right. In the case I was talking about, I know two of the witnesses who were called, but I suppose you could ask questions a certain way to get the answer you were looking for. The neighbor wasn’t anyone of special importance in the town to my knowledge, but maybe it was a good ole boy situation nonetheless.

First game back against the Ravens on 10/23. First home game is Halloween night, a Monday night game against the Bengals.

If a grand jury panel was motivated and had a strong interest in finding the truth, the panel could issue subpoenas and call witness on their own. A “runaway jury” so to speak.

But 99 of 100 people don’t want to be there in the first place, and are ready to get it over with asap and go home.

In this case, YOU KNOW the DA got some phone calls from folks with lots of connections and money. Cleveland is still enough of a blue collar union town that there are plenty of folks around who know how to do things “the old fashioned way.”

Likely also, the citizens on the jury want to continue to live in the area. Jury panel names are public record.

Not even a single game for the dozens of victims while he collects on his hundreds of millions in guaranteed money. I can’t think of anyone who has been more protected than this creep

A fraction of one game penalty for each victim

Yeah he’s really taking a hit 🙄

Deshaun Watson signed a five year, $230 million contract with the Browns after trading for him. The contract is fully guaranteed and includes a $44.965 million signing bonus, and includes a no-trade clause through the entire contract

23 of 24 have settled. Is a person’s record “clean” if he or she settles out of court?

Yep, a compromise driven by money, like everything else in the NFL.

This is a scam. Players have been suspended this long for much less.

the NFL is full of "the Cops didn't charge him and the civil cases all went away but we fined and suspended the heck out of him anyway" scenarios. Basically they do that to punish bad press

As long as it's not a superstar in a top position, that is. Those guys get slaps on the wrist.

The NFL will ‘increase’ the suspension to 8 games. Make it look like they’re tough guys.

His 5 year deal is totally back loaded, because they knew this was coming when doing the contract.
He’s making millions this year but 10s of millions in the out years.
Also the 40m signing bonus is unaffected.
