Will Smith is like Keanu reeves......not entertaining......to me anyway.

I think Will Smith may have lost a little bit mojo due to his toxic relationship. Matrix was good but I can see why some people are not fans of Kneau Reeves. His best role was in Bill & Ted.

I had an internal debate re: Snowcrash vs Diamind Age.

I remember reading Lucifers Hammer when was first published, and it struck me as less science fiction, and more of a SHTF thought experiment. And still a good one.

Impossible to say.

one that sticks out in my mind is The Boat of a Million Years.—1989 by Poul Anderson. Past sci fi golden age and I could probably think of a few better ones if I studied it for a while.

still, it was good.

He just couldn’t pull off the tough guy persona that 007 requires IMO.

That’s why after Connery I really didn’t even watch a bond film until Craig.

But yes I think Craig has run his course also. I have yet to see the last 007.

More of a short story if I remember.
Good and utterly terrifying ending.

Actual books are expensive. You can buy the “printed on demand” versions and the like.

I have a pretty decent-sized collection of sci-fi paperbacks & hardcovers from the 70s and 80s. Turns out some of them are worth way more than I would have thought. (Same with vinyl).

The cover art is why, IMHO.

It is superb!
Has a hero from Kanawha County WV!

It would make a fantastic movie.
Nobody today could do it justice.

I read this one back in the day.

4745728

Raiders from the Rings by Alan E. Nourse; 3.87

A young adult novel in which the human race is divided into the Spacers and
those who still remain on earth. There is a constant low-level war between
the two groups, with the Spacers raiding earth for supplies and for women.
The war turns hot in the book and three teenagers, one Spacer and two
from Earth, must find a way to bring peace.

Another good read by John Scalzi.

I’ve started on Foundation Series in the past, but it was too slow so I gave it up after a chapter or two. It picks up?
