They’d be “PC’d” and ruined.

Well, here is a scene from “The Verdict” with Paul Newman:
Lawyer Frank Galvin lost his expert doctor witness in a negligence civil suit vs. a hospital and two well-known doctors.
He searches for a replacement, and is shocked when an old black man gets off the bus.
As the doctor is on the stand awaiting questions, Jack Warden, Paul Newman’s partner says. “Well, we got the witch doctor.” Newman is depressed. Warden say, “Look at it this way. It’s always refreshing when you have a doctor on the stand and he’s not a Jew.”
