I watched Episodes One and Two and see two main problems,

On one hand they are very average. Lazy even.

On the other hand, the series is not actual Tolkien but more of a reboot. And not a very good one.

Who is lazy? The characters in the show or the creators?

“Average” is not going to cover the billion dollar a season tab for this monstrosity!

I won’t be watching this.

As boring as the Silmarillion.

The stupidest thing that Star Trek ever did was to create a black Vulcan. Yeah, they had a black guy playing a Klingon before that, but you couldn't have told he was black except for the sonorous voice, because all Klingons were dark-complected. I knew the instant I first heard Worf speak that the actor inside was black, but it was years later before I saw Michael Dorn's face to confirm.

But the black Vulcan wasn't just dark complected, he also had a broad nose, thick lips, brown eyes and afro hair. In an unrelated species that evolved a million light years from earth. Yuh, right.

Suggesting that Vulcans, a non-human species from a galaxy far, far away, should have had an evolutionary anomaly that mirrored one that also took place on earth is absolutely farcical.

"The Rings of Power" is equally as stupid because it has black folk scattered through the Hobbits. For no reason that adds to the quality of the show, they did it purely because that's what's in the Wokester's pl, and I for on don't like where they're steering udaybook.

But the strangest/stupidest bit is that blackness doesn't seem to be hereditary. It appears to occur randomly in families without continuity or consanguinity. Either that or there's lots of infidelity going on in Hobbitown.

Tolkien had female characters doing heroic things, but only rarely and largely in isolation. Not enough to carry a storyline so I think he would resent a plot spun off from his works featuring a female as the leading heroic figure.

And all of this is being done in the name of Wokeness. So don't piss down my leg, try to convince me it's raining and expect me not to resent it. I know when I'm being preached to and I won't stand for it. Entertainment aside, they're re-engineering OUR culture for THEIR benefit, and you either stand up to it whenever and wherever you recognize it or you grab ankle and submit.

I watched the first episode. That was enough for me.
