Paul Kutz, 53, was at a Courtyard Marriott while visiting his son for Family Weekend when he was murdered

The accused shooter in the slaying of New York father Paul Kutz, who was gunned down in the lobby of a Courtyard Marriott hotel while visiting his son at Marist College for Family Weekend, is being probed for another local murder, according to a new report.

Ex-convict Roy Johnson Jr., 35, was arrested at the scene for second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon for the random killing of the 53-year-old father of three in Poughkeepsie Sunday morning.

Police say Johnson was present at another homicide August 9, when Darren Villani, 28, was fatally shot in his car at the intersection of Mansion Street and Bement Avenue.

City of Poughkeepsie Police Captain Rich Wilson said in a press release that detectives determined that Johnson, who is homeless, was at the intersection of Mansion and Smith streets at approximately 1:45 a.m.

City of Poughkeepsie Police did not immediately return a request for comment on the matter.

Police had been trying to locate Johnson for questioning after learning he had several warrants for drug and weapon possession charges out of Georgia, Wilson said.

"The identities and locations of witnesses, persons of interest, and suspects have proven challenging and difficult to ascertain, including the location of Roy A. Johnson," according to the press release . "Multiple sources have indicated that Roy A. Johnson had been eluding police through transient stays at unspecified hotels including hotels in multiple states outside of New York."

huh. Dangerous transients and illegals staying at medium/high rate hotels all over the US.

Make sure you make reservations over the phone and ask those questions!

When they capture him they should send him to Martha’s Vineyard.

Nothing will happen to him. He will not spend one minute locked in either a jail or prison cell. If decent people don’t enough to leave New York City by now , their blood is on their heads. The criminal element rules and evil abounds.

He should be released to Ga for the pending warrants. He should be sent down by C-47 and when over Georgia at 8000 feet, send him out the door.

I recently stopped at a Motel 6 to get a room, but left when I saw a bunch of drunk “migrants” hanging out in the parking lot. I got a room at a more expensive motel nearby. Now, you’re telling me that these “nicer” motels are letting homeless/violent people get rooms? Safety is a main reason people stay at nicer motels because the expectation is that the motel will NOT give rooms to people like this.

There will be an initiative on the ballot in March, in LA about whether or not nice hotels in downtown LA will be forced to house the homeless alongside their regular guests:

Los Angeles City Council Sends Initiative to Ballot That Would Require Hotels to House Homeless in Empty Rooms

"This initiative, called The Responsible Hotel Ordinance, would require that hotels report their empty rooms to the city so that vouchers could be issued to the unhoused giving them places to stay."

Wouldn't be surprised if it passed, knowing how many stupid voters there are in Southern California.

This should put the hotel industry out of business in Los Angeles as conventions and others book elsewhere.

We always check the comments on Expedia and Yelp for hotels - that’s where you’ll get the real lowdown.

We were going to book a “nice” hotel in Oakland, Ca, recently but in the comments section people said there were groups of suspicious men hanging out in the parking lot at the far end.

We decided to stay in another town altogether.

Nuthin’ n’ everything.

Still recovering from the heart attack and we discovered a clog in our sewer (septic tank/leech bed) system.
I’ll be doin’ some diggin’ in a couple of hours when it warms up a little more.

America is FUCKED unless we take back the House and Senate.
They both look good, but the democrats are not going to go away quietly nor easily.

I’m glad I’m an ol’ faht and won’t be around to see us fall . . . . we are NEVER (imo) going to recover and get back to what/where we were.

Not paying too much attention to the Ph politics, and you’re quiet on the world news scene.

What up with you ?

It’s not always that the homeless are staying at these hotels/motels. The homeless and transients often come in to try to get the “free” hot coffee and breakfast items set out for guests. I’ve seen articles about this, but can’t seem to find one now. But here’s a guest review documenting a case.
https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g33026-d81735-r816358829-Embassy_Suites_by_Hilton_San_Luis_Obispo-San_Luis_Obispo_San_Luis_Obispo_County_Cal.html

My memory of the article is that hotel staff doesn’t push back because they might be made to look uncaring (unwoke) and because they fear for the safety of their staff.

if the general public LEARNED that they are allowing these feral bums to stay at top notch hotels nobody would pay to stay there....

if you can't absolutely guarentee safety, one should not be in the hotel business.

What up with you ?

Nothing different. Since you have been to my house, you know where we are, but we bought property, about 40 miles north of here. The big city, is starting to wear on my nerves. 🤪🤗

I don't know if I'll ever get back, but I could wrap up in the Province.

My SS isn't that much here, but it'd do fairly well in the Philippines.

Our in laws live in a gated like you, in Cavite and we both would never live like that.

Here in the USA we have 3 acres of rural SW Pa and it serves us just nicely .... small town, locals love us and we them . . . Chief of police and magistrates are friends and my wife's employer.

We like small town living, but she does not want to go back.
