Donā€™t know moscato.but Glicine. Oh my word. Like cool water on a hot day. Brings back memories . Catania. After party. A girl in a bubble, gliding on top of a swimming pool. A 10 course dinner.

Glicine

I like your tastes and summary. I love all those with the exception of Cabs-——they need to be well established, “old” and certain varieties. I believe Merlots and Zins are more forgiving, half the price and taste better.

Unless I get a Burgess, O’seanesy, Stags’ leap, Silverado or the like Cab, I usually pass.

But other than that you’re spot on! But then again, wine is about what you like-—not what others like.

I am not a wine guy, but have a great dad joke for you all.

So a waiter brings a wine list. I open it up and pretend to read it. The wine list becomes the whine list.

My feet hurt, my food is cold.....

Enjoy.

As others have said, Riesling goes very well with food and youā€™ll find a range of sweetness, but none as sweet as the Italian Moscatos you can probably buy easily.

Sauvignon Blanc is a nice, reliable choice for a food wine.

I have friends that love moscato, itā€™s the only kind of wine they drink. Itā€™s VERY sweet, and if you want to lessen that there are others that are still sweet but much more mild. I think Rieslings and Gewurztraminers are sweet enough. If you are stuck on having moscatos, try the peach, blueberry, or other flavored varieties out there. For cooking with chicken or fish, I would think a Sauvignon Blanc might be a better choice. That would be drier than any of the sweeter wines.

I’m not a blended whisky or scotch guy but give “TX blended whisky” a try. Dang that was smooth as all get out. We tasted it one night and most of the guys preferred it over JWB. Also, it’s $40 per bottle instead of $300.

I wouldnā€™t use a Cabernet with chicken or fish though.

Sonoma Cutrer is a nice Chard, or for a bit more exotic try a Pouilly-FuissƩ.
