I have learned that the more “Must See!” and “This movie is Awesome” advertising they push after the release of a show, the more it disappoints. A great show will spread by word of mouth. Why waste advertising dollars if viewers are praising the product. FB had non-stop, back-to-back ads trying to generate interest in ROP for the last month. Most of the user comments are “it’s not that bad” or “it takes a few episodes to get into it”. It must really be bombing.

Completely agree.

Old business axiom that is always true:

Good products don't have to be sold, just presented to prospective customers.

Bad products are the ones with the hard sell or aggressive ad campaign. They need it.
