If the crown is that important, then those women need to suck it up and take it like a man.

The program itself is great. I can hardly believe the difference in my daughter after four years of competing -- she is confident, poised, extremely well-spoken, and very good at public speaking. MAO gives out gives out a lot of money in scholarships, so for the young ladies competing, they are basically sucking it up just to pay for their college educations.

“there is a lot of discussion going on behind the scenes”

Are they threatening to release the Kracken?

I'm not privy to the discussions, but I don't think there's anything they can do about it right now. The contracts that the girls sign are established prior to the current competition season, and up until now, there hasn't been an issue. In fact, the competition season is almost over (all of the local crowns awarded), and Miss Derry was this guy's first competition, and was a surprise to everyone.

I can't even fault the judges for this -- they had an obligation to judge the competitor in front of them, not to determine eligibility. It's really too bad they got rid of the swimsuit portion of the competition a the Miss level (it was never in the teen-level), because there's no way this guy would have won!
