Sheriff Wayne Ivey said Walsh and his roommate were taking a break from playing online video games with friends when Lawson pointed a gun at him and pulled the trigger.
The sheriff said Lawson “jokingly” aimed the gun at Walsh, thinking it was not loaded.
Lawson called 911 and reported that he had accidentally shot Walsh and was “fully distraught and devastated” when Palm Bay officers arrived, Ivey said.
Officers found Walsh inside the home with a single gunshot wound.
Lawson faces a manslaughter charge. He was being held without bond at the Brevard County Jail.

Rule #2: Do not point the gun at anything you are not prepared to kill.
Rule #3: Keep your finger out of the trigger mechanism until you are ready to fire.
Rule #4: Always be aware of what is behind your target.

Perhaps because in the current political environment nobody with an IQ above room temperature would take the job.
I remember that quote from the late 50s, early 1960s comedian, Brother Dave Gardner. I cannot recall if it was on his “Rejoice, Dear Hearts” album (ablum as he would say) or “Kick thine ownself” ablum. I vividly recall listening to these albums. Funny guy with biting social commentary.

What an absolute idiot. I would never point a gun at anyone unless they were a clear threat to my safety or someone else’s safety. There is no excuse for what this idiot did.
Intent to harm is not a required element for a manslaughter charge. Extremely reckless behavior is sufficient.
