Maine School Board Issues Statement on Secret Gender Transition for 13-Year-Old
Maine Wire ^ | December 19, 2022 | Steve Robinson

The statement does not address the allegations of Amber Lavigne, which have been reported exclusively and extensively by The Maine Wire.

The board of a Damariscotta school embroiled in controversy over an attempt by staffers to transition the gender of a 13-year-old student without her parents’ permission issued a vague statement on Monday concerning the issue.

“The Board is aware that rumors and allegations have been published and republished on various social media platforms relating to this issue,” the statement from superintendent Lynsey Johnston and board chair Samuel Belknap II states.

“While it is unfortunate that some individuals have sought to use this issue to try and divide our community, as a Board, we are committed not only to following Maine law but also honoring our school’s core values, and focusing on treating each other with dignity and respect,” it states.

OS 93 Superintendent Lynsey Johnston

The statement does not address the allegations of Amber Lavigne, which have been reported on exclusively by The Maine Wire. The statement also does not dispute any of the facts reported by The Maine Wire.

Lavigne said at a school board meeting on Wednesday that a social worker at the school gave her 13-year-old daughter a breast binder without Lavigne’s knowledge or consent.

That binder was part of a social gender transition the young girl was encouraged to keep secret from her parents by 26-year-old social worker Sam Roy.

According to Great Salt Bay Community School’s publicly available school policies, school staff are prohibited from encouraging student’s to keep secrets.

School officials have declined multiple request for comment from The Maine Wire. They have not said whether Roy will continue in his role as a social worker for the school.

I would imagine that what I feel should be done to all parties involved in this, would be too harsh for many in this site. Even for some on this site that have espoused harsh things.

But it would be bad.

The photo was of a counselor at the school, who may or may not be the one who gave the 12 year pld the chest binder.

Actually, the statement has two telling sentences; one at the end of each paragraph:

End of paragraph one :

“Those policies comply with Maine law, which protects the right of all students and staff, regardless of gender/gender identity, to have equal access to education, the supports and services available in our public schools, and the student’s right to privacy regardless of age.”

End of paragraph two:

“The Board and administrators remain committed to working in partnership with parents, staff, and local law enforcement to ensure that all students and staff continue to have access to a safe educational and working environment.”

In a nut shell, they are going to continue doing what they are doing now because Maine law permits it and they intend to use the school system and their law enforcement partners to shield them from interference from parents who object.

In order to win this fight, the parents and their supporters need to first undermine the support structure that these transsexual activists rely on: the specific Maine laws, the state government officials and representatives that support it, the county, school, etc. Launch recall campaigns and work to get laws repealed. Win local government and school board elections then disassemble or, better yet, restaff the local DEI offices with less “woke” personnel. (BTW, along the way, they may discover few or none of DEI offices were ever authorized by elected officials to begin with).

They also need to conduct an unpleasant, vigorous but scrupulously legal “information” campaign to inform the advocates, their neighbors, people sitting next to them in restaurants, in grocery stores, etc. of what they are doing and how harmful it is.

Every youth protection training ever created is clear that an adult telling a child to “keep a secret” from their parents is unacceptable and an immediate red flag. I don’t even understand how this is a matter of debate, and yet here we are.

That Sam Roy is not a Sam. Samantha more likely.

They should not be passing these out, period.

A proper binder must be custom made for the patient; otherwise, it can damage the rib cage.

I would sue the social worker for practicing medicine without a license. Easy win in court.
