Boston Incurs Public Backlash After Unveiling 22-Foot MLK Sculpture

The city of Boston has taken online and social media heat this weekend after unveiling a 22-foot bronze sculpture that celebrates the relationship between the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and his wife, Coretta Scott King.

For those who have seen the famous[?] photo of the Kings embracing, it's easier to visualize what Thomas was trying to accomplish.

For others, the gigantic bronze sculpture located in Boston Common, the nation's oldest public park, represents different things, depending on the angle from which it is viewed.

Seneca Scott, Coretta Scott King's cousin, slammed the statue's aesthetics in an essay for the online journal Compact.

"For my family, it's rather insulting," wrote Scott, while adding the "sculpture is an especially egregious example of the woke machine's callousness and vanity."

“Gangrenous vagina diagnosis was a new one for us.”

Ooohhhh. Gross. What even IS that? Never mind; I don’t want to know.

Reminds me of the Everybody Loves Raymond Episode when Marie, Ray’s mom, took a sculpting class and made a statue of something that looked female private parts. Nobody knew what it was till Ray whispered what it looked like. Frank, Ray’s dad couldn’t stop looking at it.....kept saying for some reason, he liked it.

Hilarious episode.

It doesn't matter what the sculpture looks like, if you evoke MLK some inner-city will spend money to put it up somewhere.

I recommend members of the King family encircle it with hammers and beat it to rubble.

It’s just like the story of the Emporer’s New Clothes. Nobody deared to tell the King he was naked as he showed off his new clothes.

Something tells me if Mr. King were alive today, he’d be mortified over this piece of “art”.

The King has no clothes!

LOL — you’re right. Somehow the artist has managed to create the ultimate piece of leftist art. It is uniquely obscene or disgusting from every viewing angle.

I lived in Santa Clara County for 20 years and know that wretched pile well. A monument to a Central American death cult is all well and good but the statue of Fallon raising the American flag over San Jose had to go.
