The decision by President Biden and his top advisers to keep the discovery of classified documents secret from the public and even most of the White House staff for 68 days was driven by what turned out to be a futile hope that the incident could be quietly disposed of without broader implications for Mr. Biden or his presidency.
The handful of advisers who were aware of the initial discovery on Nov. 2 — six days before the midterm elections — gambled that without going public, they could convince the Justice Department that the matter was little more than a minor, good-faith mistake, unlike former President Donald J. Trump’s hoarding of documents at his Florida estate.

It was. And these were stolen docs. There is no good explanation for these to be outside a secure location. They were stolen by a person who had access to them, who took the risk of jail time to remove them.
The big question not answered yet - what is in these documents that someone wanted so bad they risked going to prison for them?
Well given the stupid early and mail in voting windows it wouldn’t have made any difference. But they couldn’t help themselves.

Typical not-so-subtle NYT spin on the story. Hoarding is so much worse than storing. Plus, notice they mention the "Florida estate" to feed their class-envy hungry readers. No mention of the multi-million dollar Biden Estate, bought with Chinese and Ukrainian money. He's just good old Joe with a family home, not an "estate guy".
So, basically they covered it up.

Gotta be skeptical of that November 2 “discovery” date. I’d bet the docs were found BEFORE the August raid on Mar-a-Lago...and that the only reason for the raid was to blow it up so big that Biden’s boo-boo could be brushed off as minor “in comparison”.
