A teaching aide who was brutally beaten by a 6'6" teen student is a 'humble' mom-of-two whose son attends the same high school, it has been revealed.

Joan Naydich, 57, of Palm Coast, Florida, was thrown to the ground and knocked unconscious by an unidentified teen student on Tuesday at Matanzas High School after she took away his Nintendo Switch.

The mother-of-two has a son Morgan, a senior, who attends the high school and a daughter who graduated in 2013. She has worked for Flagler County Schools since 2004 and has worked at Matanzas since 2021.

'Joan is humble, never asks for help and needs our love/support during this difficult time,' friend and fellow parent, Jessica White Leon, wrote on GoFundMe. 'I've had the privilege of getting to know Joan through our kids' bowling team for Matanzas HS for the last six years!'

Flagler County deputies found Naydich with 'severe' injuries after she was hit by the student at least 15 times. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment. It is unclear if she is still in the hospital.

Sheriff Rick Staly told WESH 2: 'This could have been a homicide.'

The student, who is special needs, was arrested and charged with a juvenile felony for aggravated battery with bodily harm, which faces up to five years. He is currently in the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice.

In surveillance footage, released by the Flagler County Sheriff's Office, the hulking student can be seen rushing up to Naydich before launching her across the room, her body flying several feet.

"Sheriff Rick Staly told WESH 2: 'This could have been a homicide.'

He kept savagely beating her after she was unconscious. This was attempted murder.

Multiple newspapers have pulled the popular office comedy comic strip “Dilbert” after its creator Scott Adams made racist comments in his podcast, and then doubled down on them.

“I’m going to back off from being helpful to Black America because it doesn’t seem like it pays off,” Adams said. “The only outcome is I get called a racist … it makes no sense to help Black Americans if you’re White. It’s over. Don’t think it’s worth trying!”

“I’m not saying we should start a war or anything - we should just get away,” he said as he continued discussing race in education and other issues.

He may be special needs, but he sure knew how to launch her across the room and beat the hell out of her.

I hope her injuries aren’t long lasting.

You got that right. 6'6" of raw meat powered by a pea brain. Not a good combination. One of these days that boy will be put in his cage for 20 years, 30 years, or with a bit of luck "The Needle".

After the attack, Mental Health Advocate, Sue Urban - whose 17-year-old son Nicholas graduated from Matanzas High School before taking his own life - responded to the incident, claiming it wasn’t ‘his fault,’ despite swift backlash.

‘This is not this child’s fault. He is not a threat,’ Urban said in an emotionally Facebook Live.

Jeeze....where to being. Should this woman be lecturing anyone??

He is ABSOLUTELY RIGHT! It's not racist to say the truth.

We pay heavily to "help" them, and we get hate, an upraised finger, and beaten to a pulp in return.

Dilbert creator Scott Adams said to stay away from them. Separate yourself from them. Have nothing to do with them. It is a hopeless situation. Do yourself a favor and find yourself a place to live far away from them.

It’s “racist” to say things the racialists don’t want to hear, no matter how true those things may be.

“He may be special needs, but he sure knew how to launch her across the room and beat the hell out of her.”

Yes he did. which is why I asked in an earlier post “Don’t they teach special needs kids how to behave?”

I got a lot of interesting answers.

short answer No they don’t. They don’t hold these kids to the same standards. Mainstreaming them is a waste of time and money. Why mainstream if you are not going to hold them to the same standards?

As tommy sotomayor would say about the “retarded kid throwing snack packs against the wall in the class room” why is that allowed? The normal children can’t do that? Yet the normal children see the retarded child do it and get away with it and it just make the normal kids angry. They don’t understand and we expect kids to understand. BUT THEY DON’T.

So have special schools for these kids where they may throw their snack packs against the wall all day and it does not matter. Have schools like this were former linebackers are the teachers. If needed we reopen a place like Willowbrook and not let it become in disarray.

I hate to say it but this is an epic fail as I knew it would be.

Moments later he told officers: ‘F**k you, I don’t want to go to jail. I have more important things to do,’ before accusing them of manhandling him.

Some observations:
1. If he had more important things to do than go to jail, he should have known better than to assault someone.
2. I don’t doubt that this thug is “special needs”. Yet, even with that, he still apparently knows how to play the anti-Police, race card.

I saw maybe a Tweet in which he was commenting on the Rasmussen poll that shows barely half of blacks feel it’s OK to be white.

This is the weak spot with the whole “mainstreaming” idea. Some special needs kids are mellow enough and stable enough to be integrated in normal schools. Some are not. When they show themselves to have a nutcase violent streak they need to be somewhere else. Politicians wanted to spend the money on something else so they gradually shut down the institutions we used to have that were built to handle these hot heads. And tell me again why this bonehead had his Nintendo in a class room?

Calling a 17yr old a ‘child’ or a ‘kid’ just pre-taints the jury pool that needs to be in a trial to put away this adult thug so he doesn’t see daylight for a long time. they need to redefine that childhood stops as soon as they hit teen years.

Sheriff Rick Staly told WESH 2: 'This could have been a homicide.'

And it still could be a homicide. The victim appears to have been critically injured.

The student, who is special needs, was arrested and charged with a juvenile felony for aggravated battery with bodily harm, which faces up to five years.

"Special Needs?" This one is a rabid dog and needs to be put down. Certainly, five years in prison (where he will be respected and admired by other black inmates for killing a white woman) is insufficient.

The follow-up strikes on the head and neck of the unconscious person demonstrate attempted murder. The attacker is a violent and uncontrollable menace who should never be released from prison.
