Legendary TV star Dick Van Dyke reportedly was injured when he crashed his Lexus in Malibu after losing control behind the wheel.

The 97-year-old actor’s car skidded in wet weather conditions before smashing into a gate on Wednesday morning, TMZ reports.

The ordeal left him with a bloody nose and mouth, as well as a possible concussion.

Police arrived to find the Hollywood veteran behind the wheel of his Lexus LS 500, TMZ added.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics.

I think I might have seen that episode. I was channel flipping, and was like, oh, cool, it’s Dick Van Dyke, doing detective stuff. I had no idea. Oh, look, a pretty girl - what the heck is she doing on his lap?!

Yeah. Wholesome family entertainment, that, right?

“Endless weeks of nice weather allows a significant amount of oil to collect on street surfaces. The first rain displaces the oil in the pavement with water and the oil floats on top. The surface becomes very slick and dangerous”

Yes, here in Texas, during our hot summers, after many days of 100+ temps, then a sudden short rain storm (not enough to wash the roads just wet them), I start listening for sirens as there will be some accidents.

I remember reading years ago about a family who finally took Grandma’s keys away after she asked her 16-year-old grandson to write out instructions on how to start the car and tape them on the dash.

My own grandmother, though, was the oldest licensed driver in her state at 99, and never had a wreck that I know of. She was still living alone when she had a heart attack while shoveling snow, about 6 weeks before her 100th birthday.

By that logic no one that was injected should be able to drive as they seem to fall on their face more then older people in the last few months.
you need to be more careful on the roads. Do you look both ways before entering a GREEN light?

"She had been in numerous fender benders"
Was she written up by the police?

Yes, and she still managed to keep her license.

I understand these elderly people not wanting to lose their independence. I 100% get that - my mother would say “once you lose your ability to drive, you become dependent on other people.”

I can understand that as well. I hope to be able to drive for quite a few more years, but I don’t expect to be driving at 99.

"Fredricksburg is our favorite."

Mine too, can't believe The Christmas Store is no more, second-best Christmas store in the nation behind Bronners.

I think he looks 100% his age. My mother at 102 looked 25 years younger than him.

97 and driving in the rain... nope.
He should stay home on rainy days.
