I’m just relieved it wasn’t named 1939, the year WW2 started.
The article repeats itself in parts here and there, but never is there any explanation of why 1938 was chosen for the name.
1939—the year the USC Trojans went undefeated and won the National Championship in college football—would have been a better choice for a name.
