Agreed.
I have voice command through the remote control on 3 TVs and have never used it.
Just put up a new garage door opener that has an app......that’s just asking for trouble IMO

confirms my instinct not to ever use any of this modern garbage When my MIL lived with my wife and me, she got one of those 'echo' things from amazon. I wouldn't even let her take it out of the box, much less plug it into my network.
