Bud Light rolled out a new summer-themed ad in hopes of getting back into the good graces of beer drinkers, but the effort fell short for many Twitter users still smarting over the branding partnership with controversial transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.
The ad, which is musically set to the 1979 hit “Good Times” by Chic, shows a group of people using ice cold cans of Bud Light to cool off from the intense summer heat in an outdoor setting.
Revelers who appear to be attending a barbecue are seen carrying kegs of Bud Light while using bottles of the beer to wide sweat off their brows.
Anheuser-Busch InBev has lost nearly $20 billion in value since Mulvaney posted images and video touting Bud Light on April 1.
The Mulvaney posts sparked anger from many who vowed to boycott Bud Light and its sister brands.
Bud Light’s new commercial is part of its “Easy to drink, easy to enjoy” series of ads.
“Crack a cold one: we’ve got an epic summer ahead. Sock tans included,” the company wrote on its Twitter post touting the new commercial.
But Twitter users weren’t convinced.
“We haven’t forgotten,” one Twitter user.
Another Twitter user commented: “Have you apologized yet for slamming your loyal customers?”
“All I see is Dylan Mulvaney,” another Twitter user wrote in response to the ad.

Nah, they will be just fine. I've said it from the beginning. The stock has lost $10 in value since the start of this whole fiasco on day one of quarter 2. Since then, AB Inbev stock experienced a dip from $66/share to $57/share today.
The big test will be here a few days into July after the Q2 earnings are released. I think they will dip a bit further, but they are well above their 52 week low of $44/share. They haven't even fired the marketing exec responsible for the garbage. She is merely enjoying her "leave of absence" until the whole thing finally blows over. No, AB Inbev will be just fine. At worst, they will rebrand Bud Light and move forward.
Target was a better target, because their loss was far more immediate, and in retail, the margins are small to begin with. Yet, they haven't filed bankruptcy over their own marketing screw ups.
I say all this not because I'm a fan of either. I haven't shopped at Target in almost about 15 years, when they made it known they prefer their customers to be victims instead of allowing us to carry. Likewise with Bud Light. Used to drink it as my main, until a number of years back they started touting the fact that they use rice in their recipe. At that point, I decided it was time to learn how to brew my own, and I haven't looked back.
I say this because we have been celebrating some big win that wasn't. Did we levy some damage? Sure, but if we're going to win the war, more than just a little damage needs done. These companies need to be put out of business. When Target or AB files for bankruptcy, we will have won a much bigger and more effective battle.
Did In-Bev make a recent trip down to see the Titanic to film a Bud Light commercial?
This hidden tweet is hilarious...
It’s so hidden, it’s not there anymore.
“Thank you ma’am, but I can’t afford the $150 lap dance from Shayla.”
“Well, we have another girl here that only charges $15, would you like to see her?”
They wanted to get away from their frat boy image, right?
Mission accomplished.
Really.... it’s too late for them. Send a message to all the DIE kowtowing businesses....you will be finished if you present barely tolerated, delusional, behaviourally twisted, people as normal. And worthy as a societal influencer.
The whole company...assets of about 200 billion...needs to die..
They would probably never use Antifa, or Hitler, or the KKK in their commercials....but we gotta watch their brainchilds garbage? No we don’t.
ad has 90% middle-aged white guys, one token black guy (same guy shown multiple times), one token black woman barely shown, a token number of blonde white females ... looks like the racial mix from a 1970’s ad ... way to go ABinbev: ad throwback from the 1970’s! ... won’t work though: the rainbow beer has already been split and can’t be put back in the bottle ...
I just opened it.
InBev will, bud light, maybe not...
or at least relegated to third tier status
and i still don’t think Don would touch fagbeer 8^)
I don’t drink, but I thought it was funny.
I think if it gets that far, they will probably just rebrand. Easier that way.
It was just plain dumb. It would take some effort to gather a group that size with that many goofy and clumsy adults.
AB is trying to please (or maybe just not offend) normal people without offending the freaks at the same time. That alone tells us how clueless the marketing people are.
It’s like they are saying “we think you are stupid, and hope this tripe will fool you into thinking we have changed”
He makes an ugly man and a exceedingly ugly woman.
I think that is called a “loose-loose”.
No, I'd rather he not enjoy the punishment.
That’s the big ad to win back offended ex-customers? It’s not an apology, it’s not funny, it’s not anything but dumb.
Was in a bar in Columbus OH, last week. Heard one guy mocking anouther guy for ordering a Bud Light...and I quote: I can’t believe you’re drinking that Trannie Fluid.
Lost sales are lost sales. Budweiser is buttressing up the stock price by selling off assets including bottling plants.
So in plain words, they are making sound business decisions that will only help them be a successful beer company. Like I said, they gonna be just fine.
Much, but not all, of the woman in that picture is real. Just saying.
“plenty of scantily clad, big breasted women acting very flirtatious with regular guys”
Even that might not work. People might think the women are trannies.
