I wouldn't write it off.

Solar activity caused problems in Montreal many years ago.

Could make for a nice aurora though, if it's not cloudy out.

I think it was in the ‘90 s when there were so many large sunspots, I could see them with the naked eye with the right fog or high cloud conditions. No big deal.
