A two-year-old girl who wandered off from her home with her two family dogs has been found fast asleep in a remote woodland three miles away using one pet as 'furry pillow' while the other kept watch over her.
Thea, from the rural village of Faithorn in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, decided to go on an adventure on Wednesday when her mother Brooke had turned her back.
The toddler, along with her two dogs, walked three miles together through the wooded area before she got tired and decided to have a rest.
Back home, her panicked mother was frantically calling Thea and the dog's names before her family and friends joined in the search of their family yard and the surrounding thick woods.
After 15 minutes with no luck, Brooke called troopers from Michigan State Police's Iron Mountain post at 8pm on Wednesday and a manhunt was launched.
Troopers used drones and police dogs in the search while 50 local police and residents from both Michigan and adjacent Wisconsin helped look for Thea in the remote wooded area.
It was at midnight that a resident on an ATV found Thea sleeping about 3 miles from her home while using her smaller dog like a furry pillow while the larger dog kept watch over her, police said.

Young kids usually survive lost in the woods. When they get tired, they sleep. When they get thirsty, they drink what adults wouldn’t. And they can’t panic and run long distances.

“Good” dogs would have barked and warned the worried mother what was happening. But hey not going to blame the dogs because dogs are dogs and not people, despite what the dog nutters think. Has child services paid a visit on the mother yet?

Is it just me wondering why 3 year olds still wear diapers and drink out of baby bottles?

Or, the dogs were having an adventure and looking after the girl in the process
Lassie would have run to the house and brought the mother to where Thea was.

Perhaps because she was two years old per the article and maybe on the younger side of two years at that. Probably they haven’t pushed the potty training just yet and it appears she had a sippy cup not a bottle in one pic.
Little kids can go a surprisingly long way if they get lost. It’s a good thing she got tired & STOPPED to take a nap.

they sell diapers for 7 year olds. yay.
They also sell diapers for 80 year old wanna be presidents.
Sometimes kids are slow to train or are not comfortable going on the potty. My oldest didn’t fully potty train until he was 3. My middle child saw big brother going on the potty and was trained by 19 months. My youngest was two years old.
Bottles? By the time their teeth started coming in, we were moving on to sippy cups.
