A Missouri high school has faced a backlash after crowning a transgender girl homecoming queen - beating four biologically female students.
Tristan Young, 17, was voted the homecoming queen at Oak Park High School in Kansas City, Missouri, following in the steps of Landon Patterson, a transgender who took the title in 2015.
The school has been under fire after it shared photos of Young's crowning and celebrated her honor on social media.
'Another reminder to all girls that men make the best women,' Riley Gaines wrote on X, criticizing Young's crowning.
Gaines is a former college swimmer against transgender women competing with biologically women on sports.
'I wonder if a female will win homecoming king or if it's understood that both of these spots are reserved for males,' she added.
The advocate also retweeted a comment reading: 'I'm sure it would be just fine if a girl were crowned homecoming KING.'
Reactions under the school's social media post were divided, with some came to Young's defense and congratulated her.
'We are so proud of you, Tristan! You are a stunning young woman who is going to change the world, and you deserved this win!!' one wrote.
'And yes, if grown women really find it necessary to spread hate and bully kids like this, then maybe boys DO make the best girls,' another posted on Facebook.

Actually that was the last time this happened in this school. Twice in history of the school. 2015 and 2023.

Doesn’t bother me. Idiot girls are getting what they deserve. At the link is s photo of 4 other girls standing with him for photos, hugging and smiling. This crap won’t stop until girls walk out of any contest or athletic event that lets men in.
Only the Mexican girl on the left looks unhappy. Maybe these migrants will actually be the ones to save us.

I just attended the Homecoming game in a my old home, in Texas. The Homecoming “King” was a 6’3” black male, with hair down to his butt, wearing makeup, false eyelashes, capri pants and high heels. He was a cheer-leader.
The opposing team had a 21-point lead in the 1st quarter .
Shame that cheerleader couldn’t wear shoulder pads.
I’ve had that very thought.
I could completely see the females in the student body voting for the guy just to spite the girls on the court.
They are gonna keep shoving these fake girls at young males until they start wanting to date them! It’s part of the Gates Foundation depopulation plan.
Repulsive, should have never looked at the photo, but had to. My fright for the day.
Sad for the REAL girls who sought this honor that was established for them.
