Maybe there are documents around, but I think there is a lot of info in a spouses head that isn’t written anywhere. Where stuff was kept, habits, blind spots.
If someone got their hands on a tax return, there is enough information there to mess up a person’s life pretty easily.
With that in hand and some prying of information, they could cause serious damage.
