Former Republican Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney says that if Donald Trump is elected it will mean the end of the republic, and expresses alarm at how comfortable her party has become with the man and his lies. Cheney talks with John Dickerson about politics, her career, and Trump's White House run in a wide-ranging interview for "CBS News Sunday Morning," to be broadcast December 3 and streamed on Paramount+.
Cheney also talks with Dickerson about Speaker of the House Mike Johnson; her new book, "Oath and Honor: A Memoir and a Warning"; and more.

JOHN DICKERSON: You say, Donald Trump, if he is re-elected, it will be the end of the Republic. What do you mean?
REP. LIZ CHENEY: He's told us what he will do. It's very easy to see the steps that he will take. … People who say, "Well, if he's elected, it's not that dangerous because we have all of these checks and balances," don't fully understand the extent to which the Republicans in Congress today have been co-opted. … One of the things that we see happening today is a sort of a sleepwalking into dictatorship in the United States.

So lowering our taxes and regulations, fighting for free speech, protecting our border so we are still a country where citizens aren’t having to live with hoards of barbarians, for our right to determine our own lives and not sending our young to die for the military industrial complex and the international bankers is a “dictatorship”?

She’s one of the many Repukes who voted to sanction unlimited voter fraud on January 6th, and usher in a full blown government coup, thus helping to establish the current dictatorship that controls The White House.
Evidence that was likely handed over to Jack Smith before the ink was dry on it. Smith was appointed in November 2022. Cheney left office in January 2023, so there was plenty of time for the Committee to put those depositions in the hands of Smith. Perhaps it's in the "discovery" being denied to Trump and his attorneys by Chutkan.

This moron is so consumed with her hatred for Donald Trump and his supporters that she completely misses the danger posed by the Left/Collectivists in this country. The real danger of dictatorship is on the that side of the political spectrum. They are the ones who wish to control every single thing that you do, including what you eat, how you stay warm, how you light your home, how you flush your toilet, what kind of car you drive, etc. Neither Trump nor any other Republican has ever gone anywhere near that far, let alone trying to implement a social credit score like Red China has which, when combined with a central bank digital currency, will allow the government to completely control everyone’s life. But for this moronic woman, Donald Trump is the danger. The same guy who will not allow a CBDC, the same guy who got rid of nine regulations for every new one that was put in place during his four years in office, the same guy who is trying to avoid having this country, overwhelmed by ill-educated, America-hating immigrants, etc. She is mentally ill, and should be treated for it.
