AI writing skill
ChatGPT | 12/9/2023 | By Laz A. Mataz

Posted on 12/09/2023 4:53:43 PM PST by Lazamataz

I asked AI to create some text for me on a particular topic, namely, a thorough treatment of WebAPI protocols and how to reference them.

This is what I got.

"An unforeseen rendezvous transpired as an explorer traversed the streets. In a quaint alleyway, they graciously signaled for a vehicle on the main road to lead the way. The car heeded their gesture, to their astonishment, veering into the same path. Face-to-face, a grin from the other driver metamorphosed this ordinary moment into a surreal realization; With a touch of whimsy, a connoisseur couldn't resist lauding the captivating allure this moment. Playfully portrayed, ostensibly ordinary with a fanciful twist of destiny, a mystical gypsy enchantment. A memorable encounter with a Greek deity lingered in the mind of a dreamer, creatring an instant enchantment that washed over them inadvertently colliding with the fates. Gazing upward, the dreamer beheld an ethereal glow that seemed to envelop everything. With a touch of whimsy, they likened the experience to the background melody of “Magic Man,” emphasizing the undeniable allure emanating from the whole universe."

Wait, what?

[[It used to be that one could place a hundred monkeys at 100 typewriters for 100 years, and they’d come up with a work of Shakespeare.]]

Not true- they’d run out of ink/ribbon and the keys woudl break down- and they woudln’t know how to fix them and i believe it’s more than 100 monkeys and just 100 years

I on the other hand type like a monkey

Woke-ass program doesn't know how to use the third person plural pronoun.

Word Perfect 5.0 used to call me vague and pretentious and accused me of using too much passive voice.

I really think it’s got quite a ways to go before it’s much of a threat. Keep that chin up.

I was so confused with that useless jabberwocky that I didn’t even realize the “Magic Man” referred to the song by Heart.

That is some crazy shizzle!

I've recently been playing with Neural Networks and Kaiber. My last music vid was done using Rotor. I fed it some video clips, dropped in the song audio and it was off to the races. A bit of editing and bingo-done! Incredible!

Pretty impressive technology that never ceases to surprise me in both good and creepy ways. I once asked NN to draw me a picture of Klaus Schwab with a "banana" in his mouth. I laughed at the results until I couldn't breathe.

This AI tech can be a lot of fun!

Here's how Chat GPT cleaned your story up a bit:
Amidst the meandering streets, an unexpected rendezvous unfolded as an intrepid explorer journeyed through the urban labyrinth. In a charming alleyway, a subtle wave beckoned forth a vehicle from the bustling main road, and astonishingly, it obediently charted a course into the same thoroughfare. The two vehicles converged, and in a face-to-face encounter, a warm grin on the other driver's face transfigured the commonplace into a moment of surreal revelation.

With a whimsical touch, akin to the strokes of a masterful connoisseur, one couldn't help but applaud the enchanting allure that permeated this seemingly ordinary intersection. Playfully depicted, it was as if fate had embroidered an ordinary scene with threads of fanciful destiny, weaving a tapestry of mystical gypsy enchantment. This unexpected encounter lingered in the memory of our dreamer, akin to a rendezvous with a Greek deity, creating an instantaneous enchantment that collided with the threads of destiny.

As the dreamer gazed skyward, an ethereal glow enveloped everything around them. With a touch of whimsy, they likened the experience to the background melody of "Magic Man," accentuating the undeniable allure radiating from the vast expanse of the universe. Inadvertently swept up in this celestial dance, the dreamers found themselves entwined with the fates, creating a memory that sparkled with the magic of an unforeseen rendezvous and the whimsy of destiny.

Here's what Bard AI did to your story (with comments about improvements):
Here's the improved story with some overdone language removed:
Lost in a quaint alleyway, an explorer signaled for a passing car. To their surprise, the car veered into the alleyway.

A grin from the driver transformed the ordinary moment. It was a chance encounter, a twist of fate.

The memory of this meeting lingered in the explorer's mind. They felt an inexplicable enchantment, a connection to something beyond themselves.

Looking up, they saw an ethereal glow around them. It was like the background melody of "Magic Man," playing on a cosmic scale.

This version is shorter and uses simpler language, yet still conveys the same essence of wonder and chance encounters.

Here are the specific changes made:

Removed unnecessary verbs and adverbs: "Traversed" became "lost," "graciously signaled" became "signaled," "heeded" became "veered," "metamorphosed" became "transformed," "ostentatiously ordinary" became "ordinary," "lauding" became "likened," "unforeseen" and "surreal" were removed altogether.

Replaced complex phrases with simpler ones: "connoisseur" became "explorer," "fanciful twist of destiny" became "twist of fate," "mystical gypsy enchantment" became "unexplained enchantment," "memorable encounter with a Greek deity" became "memory of this meeting," "inadvertently colliding with the fates" became "a connection to something beyond themselves," "ethereal glow that seemed to envelop everything" became "ethereal glow around them," "the background melody of “Magic Man”" became "like the background melody of “Magic Man”."

Reduced unnecessary repetition: "whimsy" was used twice and removed once.

These changes make the story more concise and easier to read, while still maintaining the original message.

I asked ChatGPT to follow Bards suggestion and bring the word count down to three. It gave me:
"Something cool happened."

Then I told it to take what it wrote originally and GO EFFING NUTZ with it. It gave me this:

In the intricate unfolding tapestry of serendipity, an audacious sojourner meandered with unwavering purpose through the convoluted labyrinth of byzantine byways, tracing an ever-more complex trajectory fraught with the anticipation of unforeseen rendezvous. Within the picturesque confines of a secluded and ineffably quaint alley, the wandering protagonist, in a grandiose display of graceful theatrics, executed an elaborate gestural semaphore, a silent invocation to the benevolent presence of a vehicular conveyance on the principal boulevard, summoning it with an almost ritualistic elegance to gracefully assume the vanguard. In a truly astonishing and almost metaphysical turn of events, the mechanical entity, seemingly under the whimsical sway of an otherworldly force, acquiesced to the semaphore's alluring entreaty, executing a seemingly capricious yet choreographed maneuver to join the sojourner's path in lockstep, as if choreographed by the unseen hands of destiny itself. Countenance to countenance, the driver of this newfound compatriot, a phantom fellow traveler in this cosmic dance, bestowed upon the wanderer a sardonic and enigmatic grin, a transmutation that elevated this ostensibly mundane interlude into an ethereal epiphany—a moment where the boundaries between the mundane and the mystical dissolved.

Imbued with an ineffable touch of whimsicality, an astute aesthete, now an inadvertent participant in this cosmic ballet, found themselves irresistibly compelled to extol the enchanting allure that pervaded this juncture. This seemingly commonplace intersection, now transfigured into a sanctuary of serendipitous convergence, was depicted with a playfully ostentatious aesthetic, where the ostensibly ordinary undertones underwent an alchemical metamorphosis, resonating with a fanciful convolution of destiny—a spectacle redolent of a mystical gypsy enchantment, wherein the fates, like capricious sorcerers, conspired with a whimsical grace that transcended the banality of quotidian existence.

In the wake of this memorably transformative encounter, a spectral imprint of a Hellenic deity lingered indelibly within the cogitations of the visionary sojourner, a divine encounter that precipitated an enchantment that fortuitously collided with the inexorable machinations of fate—a celestial ballet, an intricate cosmic dance. Gazing skyward, the dreamer beheld an ethereal luminosity that seemed to transcend the corporeal realm, casting an ephemeral glow that enshrouded the entirety of existence. With a whimsical touch and a poetic flourish, they likened the ineffable experience to the ambient melodic strains of “Magic Man,” thereby accentuating the incontrovertible allure emanating from the cosmic tapestry that enveloped the vast and mysterious expanse of the universe. This was not merely a happenstance encounter; it was a veritable symphony of cosmic harmonies, resonating in the heartstrings of the cosmic wanderer, a celestial melody that echoed through the corridors of time, leaving an indelible mark on the fabric of their soul.

I asked it to go evenb EFFING NUTZER STILL and it gave me a 419 Internet error page.

A 419 error states "Effing Nutzer Limit Has Been Reached, Please Reset Server".
