People who have cruised on these big ships say you walk
around the ship from stem to stern and dont even know you’re at sea,

I’d love to see the inner workings myself.

Too many people for me to take a ride on.

Can’t blame the fans of these cruises. They may need an excuse to spend their money but they get to hang out with plenty of folks who stay out of trouble to help pay for it. They hopefully leave their quirks at home and feel the freedom to be themselves amongst their own kind.

Carnival. Like Walmart but that’s ok. Some people don’t know how to have fun. Everyone’s trying to stretch their buck.

I see 18 life boats. At max capacity of 7600...that’s 422 passengers per each craft. Yeah, I don’t think so. Even at the low end of 5000 passengers and a catastrophic event of 20% passengers losses...that’s still over 200 passengers per craft. That’s a can of sardines on the waves.

What a big, fat, terrorist target.

We have friends that love taking cruises for all of their vacations. Personally, I cannot think of anything I would want to do less on vacation than be packed in a giant floating petri dish for days at a time. You would have better accommodations and access to all the same amenities in a cheap hotel room in Las Vegas.

Out and back cruises are against the law. A cruise ship leaving a port in the US must stop at least one foreign port before returning to a US port.

Jaymar Sansabelt slacks and suspenders were invented for just such a cruise ship.

As my dear old Dad used to say about cruise ships, "Imagine being lost at sea with a thousand aging, mumu-wearing, bingo-loving women on a large, cheaply-built ship with giant always-open all-you-can-eat buffets and free bars."

Me either. My sister is two years older than me and she drags her poor husband on at least two long cruises per year. This on she just started is 120 day RTW cruise. By my count, she’s been on at least a couple dozen trips since retiring.

That ship was obviously designed by a committee. It brings the term “fugly” to new heights.

Two of our grandchildren live in the UK. We take the repositioning cruises from the US to Europe or vise-versa and fly the other way. It is so much better than flying. I really prefer Royal or Norwegian over Carnival but we are high status on both both Royal and Carnival.

My BFFs are Cruise Addicts and really love to go on these things. I know they are already booking passage.

A big ‘NOPE’ from me. Why not just go to Mall of America or the biggest Casino you can find, and save yourself thousands of dollars? I’ll never understand the fascination.

does anyone else get physically nauseous looking at these things? seems like everything that is wrong with modern society, all packed together into a combo shopping mall and all-you-can-eat buffet.

Grosses me out at the though of ever being on one.

Interesting, she has a vertical stem with a rakeback at the main deck.

Wonder how she'll take a rogue wave...
