Only Trump Can Save America
Real Clear Politics ^ | Steve Cortes

Posted on 01/18/2024 5:43:22 AM PST by Tench_Coxe

I believed that Republican voters were ready for a new post-Trump chapter of the America First movement. I now believe I was wrong.

Those of us who backed Ron DeSantis – or the other Republican candidates – should read the room. Former President Trump winnowed the field effortlessly and then crushed the remaining three candidates in Iowa. He leads in the polls everywhere else. It is time to coalesce and unite behind the clear preference of the GOP grassroots, Donald John Trump.

We do not have the luxury of further internal strife and instead must gird for an epic battle this autumn against our opponents who are inflicting daily damage upon America. Any further time, capital, and effort spent attacking the frontrunner, especially with Democratic Party-like talking points, only dilutes the power of our cause as we head toward November.

While I agree with the last paragraph, the author, like Matthew Tyrmand (involved with ouster of James O'Keefe at project Veritas), are the types Cicero warned about.

I'm guessing, like Jamie Dimon, he sees the writing on the wall and is manouvering to weasel back into some capacity. Trump, in some of his recent rallies, has read that poem about the snake. This guy imho is potentially one of them.

So far DeSantis and Haley have wasted almost $300,000,000 that could have been used to defeat Biden and Dems in swing districts. Neither one of them ever had any prayer of beating Trump and they knew it.

At this point they’re both actively aiding and abetting the enemy.

Good article -

“It is time to unify behind former President Trump as he leads the battle against the ruling class and the oligarchs intent on destroying the American way of life. I implore all patriotic populists to join as I pledge to do all I can to work for Trump’s cause, just as I proudly did in 2016 and 2020.”

There is NO saving the US as we understand it today. We’re not coming back from the divide that they have intentionally created.

“There is NO saving the US as we understand it today.”

The 70’s are over too.

No sense looking back.

The future is straight ahead.

I’ll trust Steve Bannon on this. If he brings Cortez back as a regular guest on War Room after his long ill-advised detour - I’ll assume he’s OK.

He doesn’t strike me as dishonest - he just choose poorly.

Unfortunately you are most likely correct. I think over the course of the next several years it’s going to get violent, with the US ultimately breaking up into different countries similar to Europe.
I’m ticked off at what we all allowed to happen to this once great country.

Trump gets to sign bills enacted by Congress and to execute the laws Congress passes.

We need to fix Congress.

We also need to place constitutional caps on middle class income (income per tax filer less than the highest federal salary excluding those of constitutional officers) and residential property taxation.

Campaigning for a constitutional residential property taxation cap could put New Jersey and New England electors into the Trump column.

We need to have independent city states where the kooks can rule their roosts and not lord it over us.

Democratic cities over 400,000 people and adjacent counties that voted Democrat in 2020 would each become independent a year after ratification of the authorizing constitutional amendment. Within that year, local towns in the adjoining counties could vote to rejoin the Republican-ruled area and all contiguous areas so voting would do so. Republican islands would get stranded in their Democratic independent city state.

The then existing national debt would be paid via the existing federal corporate income tax and by a new flat rate sales tax levied in all areas now in the US.

Your citizenship would be determined on where you live 364 days after ratification.

Violence is not the answer.

Boycotting employers of invaders insomuch as practical is the peaceful path forward.

Avoid buying new houses, they are mainly built by invaders.

Also avoid food that is processed in a manner you could do yourself.

Paint your own house.

Well, Steve should have known that we were not ready to move beyond Trump, for that means we would have had to accept that the 2020 election was without fraud, and that boat could never float, let alone sail, for this country to remain free. The truth had to be exposed, and allow the correction to take its course. Because retribution must result for the action they tried to hoist upon this nation that was conceived by the grace of the Lord.

Sorry that you made the decision you did Stave, but you have already proven that you are not only not a loyal person, but also failed to see why it was important to not move beyond Trump. But the best of luck to you Steve. Keep supporting Trump, from the outside. I suppose you were one of the staff that got let go, which is why you have come to the decision you are now sharing with us.

Decisions have consequences that come with those decisions. You chose unwisely I'm afraid. we won't cancel you, but we can't afford to bring you into the fold, yet. In time perhaps, but not yet. For you must reflect upon your decision for a while.

‘Only Trump” is silly, limited thinking. We already had him for 4 years and things are no better, and now he would be term limited. I’m not saying there is a long list of people who could do the job, but the fate of America is not tied to one person, nor will it ever be. This reeks of pandering, to Trump, and certain followers.

The hope is that Trump is planting seeds that will pay off down the road and he has inspired people who otherwise wouldn’t have gotten involved in politics. But it may take awhile for those seeds to bear fruit.

The Trump bandwagon ran over Steve Cortes. He is limping, desperately trying now to catch up to the parade. Never trust someone like this.

I own a paint company so Yes; I will paint my home. As for the invaders I agree, I E-Verify my people. Now whether or not the info they give me is true to themselves I don’t know but I become liable if I “discriminate” in my hiring processes.

Most contractors that use illegals know they just get a fed tax id and business LLC. They then get a Bank account, and their company simply pulls cash out for the payment to the illegals the sub-contractor employs.

That wasn’t my point though. My point is the government wants violence between both sides of the political argument. This is a planned outcome I think. Hopefully I’m wrong.

I hope and pray DJT is our President, but if he wins he will be stuck with the rotten scoundrels in the GOP Congress. I also wonder what happens if he is jailed before taking office. Can someone explain that to me. Who will he have to fight to get the illegals moving back across the border. I’m like some others here that believe the country has been destroyed, and its a sinking ship. I’m 76 so it doesn’t matter for me, but it will to my grand children and great grand children. How did we let this happen to our great country.
