Misleading? These are lasers that COULD be used in a fusion reactor but this system is completely unrelated to fusion?
As in using a laser system as an energy pump to start and continue fusion? Well, a (high powered like this one) laser is just a pumped emissions source producing an avalanche effect (albeit with some partially reflecting/transmitting mirrors), so your question isn’t out of the realm of possibilities.
